Flash, a pegasus pony from a far off, small, out of the way village that goes by the of Trekhenen. Trekhenen is found at the base of a series of high mountains in the northern most parts of Equestria, up passed Canterlot. Trekhenen is situated within a deep valley at the base of the mountains, and is flanked by rivers to the east, and rocky, stony land to the west. The ponies living here deal in mining in the caves at the top of the valley, and work with stones and other gems, as well as river stones they find. Flash lived here for most of her life until just recently when she moved to PonyVille looking for work, and a change of pace.

Flash had lived in Trekhenen until she was an adult, mostly helping out where she could and doing small part time jobs in the Weather Team located in Trekhenen. She was born there, and lived with her parents and her older sister- until her Parents were killed while rescuing ponies from a mine collapse when she was a young filly. After her parents passed away she was left in the care of her older sister, Skye Forge, a unicorn like their mother had been, who was hardly ever around and hardly ever spent any time with Flash at all.

Skye Forge was a dedicated young unicorn who was talented in Magic, especially Elemental Magic including Aeromancy, Hydromancy, Cyromancy and Luxmancy. Skye was a very intelligent and studios unicorn that even from a young age buried herself in her studies and her experiments with magic, creating new Spells and especially focusing on the manipulation of weather, which was mostly left up to the Magic of Princess Celestia to create special weather patterns and elements that the Factories couldn't. Her dabbling in Magic was a trait she inherited from her mother Flame Cloud- who was a Pyromancer by trade, and worked to harden and burn stones and gems.

Skye Forge was so enveloped in her Magic and her experiments she spared little time for anything else, especially social activities, and interaction with her newly orphaned little sister Flash. Since her older sister was so invested in her own work, and hardly ever had time for her- Flash became independent at an early stage, and soon grew more and more distant with her older sister. In her older years she and her sister are very alienated from each other- especially so considering Skye Forge left Trekhenen when Flash was a teenager to become the newly appointed 'Princess of Weather', Skye Forge took up the role and moved into a newly built castle that served as a High and Main Factory for the production of weather elements that Princess Celestia had once upon a time been responsible for creating and spreading to the corners of Equestria.

Flash spent most of her younger years in the company of her oldest childhood friend, a fellow pegasus colt that lived in Trekhenen by the name of Double Thunder. The two of them were the closest of friends and Flash would often times spend days at a time in his home with his parents. Flash and Double Thunder learned to perfect their flying skills together, and often times played together in mock battles as warriors and guards. At one point both of them wished to grow up and become royal guards for the Princesses (later Double would go on to lead the life of a Guard in service to Princess Tempesta, and Flash opted for becoming a Weather Pony like her father instead, and later a member of the ShadowBolts). From time to time they would also 'borrow' clouds from the Weather Team's storage and mess around with the, occasionally fiddling with the Thunderheads. Double had a neat little trick of stacking Thunderheads in intricate ways, and then setting one off- to set all the others off in chain reaction- he later demonstrated this to Flash, and that was how he received his Cutie Mark.

Double was always the stronger one of the both of them, but Flash was always faster- much faster, she was the fastest flier in the entire town, and as she grew she just got faster. Many of the other ponies in Trekhenen thought she was the fastest flier in all of Equestria, though Flash always denied it- she is slightly modest at heart.

While she was young, Flash and Double were out playing 'War' in the glens surrounding the valley of Trekhenen, and so invested in their game they failed to notice the sudden thunderstorm rolling in, until the rain began to pour over their heads, and the winds picked up so fast and so strong they were blown apart, and separated in the sky. Flash was lost, circling in the dark of the clouds, feeling the electricity of the storm in her fur and unable to tell which way was down and which was up- she couldn't see anything, and it was taking all her effort just to stay flying the wind was so strong.

In the middle of the storm her left wing was struck by lightning, and she crashed into the ground hard enough to break a few ribs, her leg, and of course- the wing that had been hit by the lightning was winged and burned and broken as well, and she was knocked unconscious on impact. Double found her down on the ground again and brought her back to town, and to the hospital so she could get help- he's been protective and worrisome over her since, to which Flash finds sweet- but a little over-bearing.

Double Thunder, though Flash remains oblivious to it (as she usually does in such matters as this) has a crush on her, and cares for her more deeply than Flash really understands. He is the one who gave her those two bracelets she wears everyday now, and a part of him loves that she's held on to them- especially since he sees them as a reminder to Flash of him, now that they've gone separate ways and live in separate places, though they still keep in touch. Flash is a good-natured pony with a cheerful outlook on life, but she is oblivious to other people's feelings at times- especially seen when she fails to realize the feelings that ponies like Double Thunder, Thunderlane, and even Flare seem to share for her.

Despite what would have otherwise been a traumatic experience for her with Lightning and storms, Flash became all the more fascinated with it instead- she couldn't describe what it felt like to have electricity running through her body, it was painful sure- but there was also some sort of pleasant warm tingle that came with it she couldn't shake since. (This encounter with the lightning is later discovered to be one of the key factors that unlocked her inborn Magic, and her Elemental Flight.)

Despite the injuries, she made a full recovery, and thankfully- her wing healed just fine and she's had no problems flying since (discounting the occasional soreness she gets from the wing when flying at high speeds for long periods of time). There is a scar from where the lightning hit her wing, but it's usually hidden by the feathers that have grown back over it. It has in no way affected her flying skills- to which she is a superb flier naturally, and can easily pull off complex aerial movement, and as mentioned before- is very, very fast.

Flash is a fearless individual who is very loyal to all her friends, and very easy to get along with. She can have a temper, but it'll take a bit to push her over the edge. She moved to PonyVille only recently in search of a more permanent position on a Weather Team, and since moving there she has become fast friends with Rainbow Dash. Rainbow, being the Manager of the Weather Team in PonyVille, is the one who first introduced her to her Senior/Boss- StormShadow, PonyVille's resident "Storm Master", who later she becomes great friends with. (As well as becoming friends with, and a member of the group that represents the Elements of Peace/War).

Rainbow shares Flash's love for speed, and is the only Pegasus able to keep up with RD at all, and easily. Rainbow enjoys having a pony to go on fast flights and races with, and someone to practice and try out complicated moves in the air with- especially a pony who catches on to complex aerial techniques rather quickly. Whenever Rainbow has time, she plans time to spend with Flash and go on a flight with.

Flash and Rainbow get along very well (even despite the fact that Flash thinks Rainbow is just a little too arrogant sometimes), but what Flash does not share with Rainbow is the desire to join the Wonderbolts- for which Flash has no interest in, and when offered chance to join the WonderBolts Academy, she declined.

Flash is however eventually approached by Nightfire, Captain of the ShadowBolts, and is given the chance to join the new team. Reluctant at first, Flash soon comes to learn more about the Team and what they stand for, and finds their cause and purpose noble and just- much more than the showponies the WonderBolts are nowadays. She accepts the offer, and joins the Team, though she chose to remain living in her home in PonyVille- and doesn't work with the Team full time, but she does help when she's needed to.

Flash lives in a small cottage home on the outskirts of WhiteTail woods, not far from where Fluttershy lives, as well as Derpy Hooves- who she seems to share an uncanny resemblance with. Flash becomes fast friends with the Derpy, and when she has the spare time, accompanies the mail pony on her deliveries, helping out and chatting away.
