This is just bull!  Under Socialism or communism (both are the same).  Under communism a humane is a WORKER told what job to do and compensated with just the bare essentials for living ( government rations, government assigned housing) with no hope of being able to work beyond ones situation he was placed by a faceless government agency.  Under Capitalism one can quit and strike out on his own using the talents he has cultivated.

I see my work was provocative enough to merit two comments by you. I'll make this one a tad more brief.

1. You do realize that this series of posters were not meant to be legitimate advertisements of any REAL political ideology nor party embodying said ideology, right? This series of posters were made for a roleplaying group of people on a website, creating fictional nations, this was just one party. It happened to be a socialist inspired one and I was able to make work for them FOR FREE to help make things seem realistic or more entertaining.
2. Communism and socialism are indeed NOT the same. One far more extreme in terms of governmental control of the market to the point where it does not exist as a separate entity, the latter is a mixed system of both regulation and enterprise (btw SURPRISE any form of taxes, governmental regulation, or national programs are essentially socialist because they are for the common welfare of the people funded by...the people. None of the nations on this planet are wholly capitalistic as then there would be no government, only private corporations to report to).
3. The objective of this work was to point out that many (not all, but a considerable number of people) work mundane, menial jobs that they are detached from on a mental level. It is simply something they have to do in order to provide an income and survive. Universities and degrees cost too much for some and is simply an unrealistic dream. So no 'dream job'. Only ones they can get to stay out of debt or jobs they can pursue while drowning in debt. The piece above states that your labors should be what embolden and strengthen you, should be a part of who you are. Granted it would be equally hard to find that in most modern day systems being utilized unless you went to certain parts of Europe, such as over in Scandinavia, they make it seem like it's easy to pursue your dreams there.

Hope this response was sufficient enough along with the other one over on SWP poster 15. Have a pleasant day ^^

Thank You for your response.  No I did not realize what your work was for, sorry I hope I did not offend. I will continue to look at your art, but I must say I am far right of the American political spectrum.  When I came across your art work I saw that you incorporated Soviet and Chinese symbols in you work (the red star and the hammer and sickle) I thought you were promoting socialism and communism.  I personally find anything bestowing the virtues of socialism and communism, grotesque (no offence meant or taken I hope, but it is how I feel).  Because while you believe that the two are different, I find no meaningful deference (an opinion I know).  Both require social ownership of the means of production.  That means taken something someone else built, so let me use the example of farms.  A farm that was purchased on the open market for so many dollars, by a family, they purchase equipment and seed, then they till the land, plant the seed, and the harvest the crops, and sell on the open market for "hopefully" a profit.  Under both democratic socialism and communism the farms will be seized by a government agency, the farmer will still work the land and harvest the crops (because some one will have to if you want food eat)and the crops will be dispersed among the citizens equally.  But not all work is not equal, a farmer works seven days a week, sometime from sun up to sun down, (there is always something to do a on a farm).  But he will only be able to keep his share that is equal to a government bureaucrats share who does no real labor.  Think of the work a carpenter does, a diesel mechanic, a doctor.  Then think of what a bureaucrat or lazy people contribute.  But they will all get to same equal share of the farmers labor, but contribute less to society.  That is why capitalism, with a small government is the only fare way.  Because if the individual takes care of themselves there will be no need for redistribution, and each man or woman can reach as high and go as far as they want with what talent or skills they have.  Some will become famous for art or acting, some will be captain of industries, some will be second rate rock bands that somehow made millions. some will just be simple middle class workers and others will fall to the side.  But under capitalism everyone is free to try.  But no guarantee of out come.  Also under capitalism, if some one wants to be generous he is free to do so.  Earn a million dollars and give it all away, if that is what he wants capitalism gives him that freedom.

I like how the red really stands out here, well done!

The "You are the Revolution" on the right could do with a bit of straightening though.

I was wondering about that when making it but I apparently made it uneven to give a more natural feel to a poster on the wall for sometimes they aren't as aligned. Good observation, thank you!

Ah I see what you mean, It's tricky trying to align it like that. You could always try removing it completely, although I'm not sure whether it would look too plain.
