Description
Rick Sternbach designed this as a primary concept idea for the USS Voyager. The original sketch that I'm basing this on can be found here:[link]
He was later told to 'smooth' the design over and make it look a bit more like a Lexus, which he did.
This design, although clunky, is a particular favourite of mine and has been ever since I first saw it when I was about 15 years old in the 'Art of Star Trek' book. Sternbach did other angled views of this concept, but changed the details whenever he did so, meaning that this picture is the ONLY existing image of this particular design. It was quite a challenge to build my Sketchup model to match, especially as I had never seen the navigational deflector array before, so essentially, I got to add my own flair to the design. Here's the finished model:

Oh my! (As a certain TOS crew-member would say...) To me, this looks like a 25th Century upgrade to the Intrepid-class, maybe Voyager-class? Love the port/starboard running lights. Which 3D format is this in, and where can we download it. (With optional landing gear, maybe?)

Thanks mate that's very kind of you to say. Here you go, I've updated the picture description with model links and a bit of background info. Actually, you're not the first to ask about a landing gear for the ship. You might just have inspired my next picture!

-sigh- As I said, love the model! Problem is, it's in Google Sketchup. Oh well, I should've known it'd be in a format I could't use...

What format do you use? I know that there are conversion programs out there for Blender and a few others.

Question:
Can this one land, like the older version?

Yeah I don't see why not.

That was an awesome concept for Voyager, and this pic just makes it look so much better.
