I was in the Inkscape channel on jabber as usual and Gladiac from http://www.linux-gamers.net/ had requested a vector conversion of their logo. What I had to work with was a picture of metal work that someone had done with their logo (as far as I know, the logo was originally a 3D render).

For the record, the metal work was phenomenal. The only drawback was that it was a picture of a large metal standup, and unfortunately the perspective was just ever so slightly off. In the end I was able to work around it, so it wasn't that big of a deal.
