The sun was so strong at that time of the day. It made the shadows rather severe in the face, and yet at the same time shows her pretty hair color quite well. Is the puddle on the ground just a coincidence? Or, is there a significance better unspoken?

Yes. It is really aesthetically pleasing, ...in spades. I was a little off my stride when I wrote that comment. I should never come home from a long rehearsal, have a Hot Toddy with Bourbon and write comments. I've learned my lesson by now.
The picture, like all your photos, has a special indescribable goodness about it, which generally defies description. No Blarney!
