Description
The stunning young face of Ema [link]This was taken in a reserve very close to my house yesterday. The natural lighting was very tricky with the sun coming in and out of clouds through the tree canopy. I also had to use a high ISO which was annoying because of low light.
I have given this the magazine glossy look for a change...

I'm surprised that you chose to go down to 1600 ISO rather than opening up the aperture. Was 7.1 really necessary for a portrait? I'm not an expert: I ask because it's a decision I rarely see pros make.

hmmm, I think the skin tone of the original Ema was better. The hues of her skin were lovely. What you've done to her irises and lips is very nice though, and it really enhances the photo overall.

I like the clarity of this piece, it is a little bit different than the slightly "soft" look some of your pieces have. I really like being able to see her deliate eyelashes, and I feel like something of her personality shines through so clearly in her eyes. This is a wonderful portrait, and I look forward to seeing more experiments like this!

but i have a jelly butt, remember?
and even though the foot in hand and arabesques could make for some kewl nude photography, i felt shy skinny dipping...
...in my own back yard
ah, maybe someday when i'm better at ballet

Gods, what eyes! Reminds me of the Mona Lisa because of the slightest hint of a smile that could either be fading or just appearing.

Lovely.
Why for you cut the top off her head? I notice so many people do it - clearly intentionally. I must be thick I reckon. I just don't get it.

Thanks Yes it is intentional. I do not know why but I like it. It might be because it lifts the eyes to be nearer the top of a tight cropped image - so they are the focal point it 1/3 from the top. That is my guess hehe (u can tell i am self-taught
)

sounds like a good theory to me, it is one of those phi=divine proportion things.
eyes are in a mathematical proportion to the face so when they are centre and slightly left they are the main focus regardless of which direction they may be looking
love the shot, very natural feeling.
once again such a beautiful and seemingly excellent model.
