Really the only gripe I have is the black frame, otherwise I agree to the critique's opinion. I generally think pictures of the horizon look restricted and boxed in with a frame, a black frame in particular. Maybe a thin frame might work though. Since this photo here is very light any white frame might actually be a better choice to keep the photo light in appearence.
I'd fave it in a heartbeat without a frame.
