I've been making Perler sprites for a long time, since I was on a Metroid kick lately I've been making Samus and Metroid sprites up the wazoo and I figured I'd make Ridley but I didn't want to make the original NES sprite or the numerous, highly detailed sprites, decided to say fuck it and make my own sprite, more detailed than the NES sprite using the NES color scheme, came out pretty nicely.

Unfortunately when it came to ironing the bastard I fucked it up and pulled the paper before all the beads were melted together. It's ironed in a few places and it might be salvageable but not getting my hopes up, when you fuck up one of these it's more difficult to fix it than it is to put it together.

To be honest I'm not too bummed about it, for one I don't like ironing large sprites, two I have a pretty small iron to begin with and three I kind of saw it coming, when beads end up unevenly melded it's a result of warping in the peg boards, need a larger peg board and a bigger iron. The silver lining being this photo I took for future reference and if others want to take a crack it, we need more custom NES Ridley sprites.

This can also be a "moments before disaster" kind of photo. Enjoy!
