Description Some say in this world...power is the only currency. The only constant...that sayin is for the uninformed. That is the thinking of the unrefined--the unenlightened! In truth, the key to this world is knowledge. Not just the academic knowledge, however. Not just knowledge of the physical world, but of the Immaterial as well. The Royals...they sit on their thrones day in and day out and think...THINK! That they know the world. That what I have shown them is all they need. Such weak minds. I will enjoy their fall indeed, and with this...this power--NO! This knowledge. Although it is great...I know there is more out there to discover...and I will not let these walls keep my intellect contained. No longer...

Fully packed, The Court Alchemist; Korick Leddon smirked as left his lab, leaving a trail of black powder in his wake through the sizable facility, making sure that no place was left barren. "The destruction of a royal lab...quite fitting if I do say so myself," Korick thought as he stepped into the foyer, turning around to marvel at his work. With a satisfied grin, the royal employee put his hand to his mouth and blew gently creating a small flame igniting the black powder and disappearing into the building.

"And so...it my quest can begin in earnest," Korick said, hearing an explosion far behind him, but paying it no mind. The alchemist pulled a book from his cloak and began to read to himself. "Albeit a basic skill, fire manipulation is an important step in mastering the Immaterial as it offers a relatively simple way of starting and mastering Immaterial."

"Hey! What did you say about a fire!?"

Korick turned to see two of the Guardsmen behind him.

"Did you have something to do with that fire back there," one of the guardsmen spoke. "Wait a minute...I think I know you...Ko...Korick! You're the Court Alchemist!"

Korick turned to the two Guardsmen and nodded. "Indeed I am...and unfortunately, since you know that, I'm afraid I can't let you two live any longer," he said, raising his hand to his mouth. "Wait a minute...actually...I think I've something a bit more interesting for you two."

"What is he babling about," one of the guards, asked the other.

"I don't know, but he's in serious trouble. C'mon, let's get him," the other said, as they both approached the suspicious mage, wielding their swords and ready to make an arrest. "Don't do anything stupid, Korick."

Korick though, was now entranced in his own mind. Focusing for another act of Immaterialism. The alchemist took deep breathes, and put his hand out in front of him. "C'mon...I can see it...it's right...THERE!" In a burst of flame, a small dagger of fire appeared in Koricks' hand, causing the guards to jump back in terror. "Hm...not bad," he said, examining the undulating blade with a curious expression. His interest in his creation led though, did not leave him oblivious to his surrounding, as he dropped the weapon to his side, noticing the two guards circling around him. "Ha...so I guess you're not going to run away scared, huh?"

One of guards launched himself at Korick, with the flame-wielder sidestepping his attacker, leaving a gash across the guards torso.

"Gah, damnit!" The guard nearly slammed into his comrade, as he grasped his side, rolling on the ground attempting to sooth the burning injury.

"You shouldn't be so dramatic, it's hardly even bleeding--the blade would have cauterized the wound on impact, you baby," Korick explained, as he turned his attention to the remaining guard.

The two circled around each other for a few minutes, before the second guard swung his sword at Korick several times, managing to catch his cheek, leaving a trail of blood dripping down his face and throwing him off his balance and onto his backside.

With the arsonist down, the guard saw his chance and pounced upon him, with Korick only just barely getting his own weapon up to block the assault.

"Why...why did you blow up the lab, Korick!" The guard pressed harder, but in his fury failed to realize that his sword was beginning to melt.

With a sudden burst, Korick sliced through his opponents sword and blew a stream of fire into the guards face, causing him to recoil and scream in agony, with his partner, having recovered partially from his own injury trying to help him.

"Sorry...but I don't have time to play with the likes of you." Before, either could make a move to stop him, the alchemist released a large stream of fire from his mouth, burning the guards until nothing was left but a pile of black bones. "Why did I do it, you ask? It's really quite simple," Korick thought, as the flame dagger in his hand dispersed and he made his way out of the kingdom. "It simply had to be done. Now, then...back to my reading."
