Description
When Lightning StrikesLarxene slammed her door, frustration building. Once again, she'd been paired up with the zombie they were forced to rely on as they built Kingdom Hearts from scratch, and on a recon mission, no less. It was almost as if Saix and the other higher-ups didn't trust her enough to let her do anything important. Maybe Marluxia had a point? Maybe she could be more than just another number...
The Savage Nymph put those thoughts out of her head, for now. As usual, with her anger reaching a fever pinch, she knew that only one thing would bring her any semblance of solace, and she hated herself for going back to this crutch of her former life--a life she couldn't even remember no less.
She held out her hand and with a dark flash, a strange, and apparently damaged guitar appeared in her hands. Slowly, Larxene's false anger vanished replaced with a more genuine sensation of wonder, replaced by something she couldn't quite put into words.
Though the device was broken, the blond warrior couldn't help but run her fingers along the instrument her eyes closing as she lost herself into darkness. Though, not the usual darkness she used to travel from world to world. No, this darkness wasn't alive. It wasn't pulsating. Though something else was.
Lenear looked around herself with a smirk. Her eyes adjusted quickly to the usual darkness, behind the curtain and around her she could see the silhouettes of her bandmates around her. She knew the usual setup like the back of her hand. Without even turning around, she knew Dex was on the drums behind her. On her right, Jaden was all set on the keyboard. On her left, her best friend Maddox on lead guitar.
Lenear was front-and-center, as the female lead and bassist of Zenier's hottest band, Shock Therapy. Today marked a great day for their group. Today, marked their big break. They were about to play the opening for the Gold & Silver City Cup--the biggest Blitzball tournament in the world. Who knew where this could take them. It would all be uphill for them from here.
The blue-eyed female could hear the announcer rile the crowd up, as he prepared to announce them. Then, something happened. She heard the announcer stop, to question something. Then she heard what appeared to be a faint scream, followed by another and before she knew it the announcer also started screaming.
A terrible ripping noise was heard, as she and her bandmates viewed a pair of crimson claws ripping through the curtains, quickly joined by more as the band quickly jumped into action. They wouldn't let a few freaks ruin their big break. Lenear, especially wasn't going to take this lying down.
Shock Therapy came out ready to fight, but were unprepared. Both for the creatures that had began to lay siege to their home, and for the sights that fell before them. Ink-black creatures with yellow eyes, others with armor and red claws, and even still lumbering creatures the size of boulders! All of these creatures were attacking the citizens, but not killing them...exactly.
Lenear watched in horror, as one of the creatures tackled a man, an plunged his claws into the man, but instead of blood, she saw him begin to glow a faint purple before his body faded away and a heart-shape floated into the air. Everywhere, that was the scene. These creatures were stealing the hearts of the citizens.
Suddenly, a bone-chilling scream rocked, Lenear but she was able to turn around just in time to see her friend, Jaden tackled and soon covered in a group of the small, shadowy creatures. Struck with fear, the band was unable to help their friend and his few screams were soon cut short as his body faded and they watched his heart float into the sky and vanish.
Never one to simply stand idly by, the band pulled themselves together quickly as the creatures turned for more prey only to be hit with a literally stunning punch, by Lenear who'd activated the mechanism in her stun gloves to help fight back, as had the rest of the band. Who'd have thought something as simple as a band gimmick would help save them in a time like this?
The three remaining band members managed to fight their way off the stage and back to a safe perimeter as the World Government Soldiers came to assist them, and for awhile Lenear was hopeful that things would be OK. How wrong she would be.
Days passed and as more time went by, hope dwindled with the dark monsters forces simply growing in power in response to The World Government. The Gold and Silver City soon fell, as did Lenear's two closest friends--dying to protect her of all things. Though she enlisted in, wanting to make use of the life Shock Therapy saved she was turned down as many women were.
Knowing that their world was all but doomed, Lenear made a decision. She would not simply wait for her world to crumble. She would fight to the bitter end. Two stun gloves on her hands, she raced out of the safety of the perimeter set up for the citizens protection and into a wave of monsters. Though she fought as hard as she could she soon was swallowed into darkness, a demonic-looking, winged monster slamming his sword into her side.
The former bassist would not let it end here, however. She fought through the pain, grabbing the foe's face, and electrifying him into destruction until finally after countless hours, she relented and was finally subdued, ready to join her friends.
Larxene snapped back to attention, and quickly sent the destroyed bass back into the depths of Darkness. The girl who once held her friends dear had long since died. Larxene was all that was left and she liked it that way. No more pain. No more loss. At least not for her. The shadows of this girl, she once was were nothing more than illusions...ghosts of a past, better left forgotten. So...why did she still hold on?

Thanks. I had fun working on a little backstory for Larxene. Honestly, I almost ended up having her be from an alternate Zanarkand, but scrapped that idea.
Hope the contest goes along smoothly.
