Background - Despite his open personality, Zan is pretty close-lipped about his past. It seems he is a beat cop… somewhere… and he’s debating on retiring and opening a little shop. He is apparently also an only child, though has a friend like a brother to him, and is fairly close with said friend’s little sister. Although he will drop casual facts about himself with no issue, he seems hesitant about offering definitive information. What he does provide sounds strangely rehearsed…

Allegedly, he was wandering around Rome while mildly drunk, and upon setting eyes on Ribbotmon in an alley he was overcome with the desire to relive his childhood passion of catching frogs. Not even a digital frog proved a match for him, and a Digivice materialized for his efforts! They wandered a bit, ending up by the Trevi Fountain, when his brand new Digivice lit up with a message informing him they’d been lied to and inviting them to the Digital World. Having no idea what that meant but up for it, Zan did as it said… only to find himself locked on one side of the portal and his new friend on the other. Lost and sobered, the man sat on the fountain edge and waited…

After following Jane and Wings through a portal to the DMCU, Zan and Ribbotmon have settled in on Ascension Island. He gladly takes whatever odd job is offered him, and jumps on any chance to help with Digidestined.com missions. Ribbotmon just goes along with it all. Zan has mentioned wanting to go home at some point, but is currently caught up in the adventure of this new situation. He finds Digimon endlessly fascinating, as well as anything even remotely technological. Sometimes, late at night, he can be seen practicing with a sword in the moonlight. He’s become fast friends with Shawn Zoran, and though he tries with Wings, his efforts are ignored. He avoids Jane: she makes him uncomfortable for some reason.
It could be he’s one of those 'not from this Earth' folks, and doesn’t want others to know, but Wings has a sneaking suspicion he’s Toki in disguise.

Digimon
Race - Ribbotmon
Type - Vaccine
Personality - Naive and impressionable. Ribbotmon was stuck in a hopping loop before being caught by Zan, and is just discovering a personality because of it. Time will tell…

   Hop Blaster: Jumps in the air and shoots a big ol’ laser!
   Tongue Lashing: Uses its long sticky tongue like a whip.
   Froggy Auggy Kick: Lashes out with its enhanced legs.
