Whoever said, "don't worry, she'll grow out of it" never met Sarah White. Converted during a time of crisis within the Circle, Sarah's stunted age punctuates her imagination...and her maturity. She is sassy, spunky, snarky, stubborn and pretty much any other s-word you can think of.

History:
Sarah was always a little different. Though physically frail, she more than makes up for it through psychic prowess. At age nine she became a member of the Circle. Usually a young age even for their kind, the necessity outweighed the risk. Ever since, Sarah meanders her way through larger cities, sniffing out tougher spirits that cling to the darker corners of bustling metropolises.
The Circle:
The Circle is a group of individuals with powerful psychic capabilities. They are incarnations of hell and their duty is to attract foul spirits, to trap them, and feed on their weight. Each member of the Circle contains a personalized kind of hell unique to themselves. The older the individual, the more intricate and compartmentalized their hell. Once a soul has run its course and all their weight is lifted, they're released to be herded by The Shepherd1.
The Circle has its territories. Each member generally has an area staked out for themselves though some are prone to vagrancy due to human nature. Due to the nature of their talents, the Circle are, at times, distant. They may sport vacant expressions and are prone to forgetting what they were doing.
The name of their group, though not the first name, divines its origins from the internal, and most widely known, hell of their pronounced member Dante.

"Walking Embodiment" - contains an internal hell constructed from imagination, wit, and psychic brawn. Sarah's is a convoluted maze of mirrors with no end and no beginning.
"Inner Demons" - If threatened, Sarah will pick a foul spirit and allow it to possess her for a time, taking advantage of the soul's past skills and experiences. Though utilizing multiple spirits at a time bears considerable risk of "All Hell Breaks Loose", Sarah's been known to successfully wield a few souls at once.
"All Hell Breaks Loose" - Last resort and only for extreme circumstances. The breaking down of the individual's internal hell, releasing ALL pent up souls in one final pulse. Though incredibly effective, it guarantees the expiration of the user.
Cons:
As mentally strong as she is, Sarah's body is frail. She has the muscles of an undernourished ant and the punch of a limp noodle. Though she may draw strength from the souls trapped in her head, she risks muscle strains and fractured bones through hard physical exertion. She'll default to sneaky measures before she fights someone one on one. Or she'll throw things with her mind. She does that best. She also wears flip-flops. They're not exactly the best footwear when trapped in abandoned ruins.
She is headstrong and blunt. Sarah doesn't think things through and has a nasty habit of blundering into trouble. Her wit compiled with her abilities lends to overconfidence and a hot temper when things don't go her way.

Personality:
Caleb is a happy, albeit, lonely man. His heart is in his work, as emotionally draining as it may be. He is quiet and collected--a man defined not by his muscle, but by his quiet word. He is liked by many, but isn't remembered by most. Thinking of himself as the tertiary character of his own story, he plays a passive role in the great game of life.

History:
Caleb Baxter has always been there. He was there when your daughter had that bad cough and you had to bring her in. He gave her a lollipop and told her that everything would be alright, it's just her allergies. That's all. He was there, later, when you had broken your ankle. Of course there wasn't much he could do, he was just a nurse, but you felt better anyways. Calmer. Happier—even through the shoots of pain.
Caleb Baxter made an amazing nurse. Gifted (or cursed) with empathy, he endured his years of school in a brewing state of conflict between unhappiness and the desire to help others. Aiding others won out. Caleb slid through nursing school with ease and landed an internship at a local hospital. After he was hired he migrated into Chicago and worked there until the fateful day when a little girl, claiming to be his second cousin (she wasn't) sought him out.

Cons:
Caleb hates the idea of fighting and will do everything in his power to not have to harm another person. He is leery in allowing trapped souls temporary control of his body—who knows what awful things they could do. His empathy drags him down, depending on the mood of those around him. He is prone to bouts of hopelessness and deals with his depression by burying his fabulous nose in the garden or in a nice, dusty old book.

Thank you. Usually I draw first and came up with something second, but this time around I had an idea of where these people came from before my pencil hit the paper. I'm glad their simplicity isn't boring.
