Description
Take Flight,as a painter, its always good to see something you create entirely out of your imagination come to life.
this was a fun little twist on creature design.
(I haven't done it in a while but this proves I've gotten much better.)
It wasn't originally going to be this well rendered up, this image was supposed to be a funny cartoon, but as i was rendering i felt it needed to go further.
Drawn by hand and painted in PS CS4

The page/creature is seriously stunning! It fits really well in the space and the texture and lighting work really well. I do feel as though there's something off about the guy's face - possibly the cartoon beginning of the piece showing through? It works really well as an overall piece, though.

Reminds me a little of "The Neverending Story" (the first movie). It's almost like that little creature on his back is telling him about the stories he's recording in his book while seeing them with his own eyes. Anyways, you get the idea.

i have been waiting for sum1 to make that comparison with the never ending story. i love that movie, n although i wasnt even thinking about it while this was being rendered.

Kind of reminds me of book covers from the early days of novels.
