I re-worked my earlier image because I wasn't sure about it. Here is the final product which I think I prefer... but I'm not too sure so I'd appreciate some feedback.Related content

It's definitely better! The tones on the other one were blown out and just flat.
Also, I didn't care much for the noise effect. I much prefer clumped grain (tip: resize your image first to get the clumps' size to your liking) which looks pretty much like what you did here, although I think yours was done adding a texture.
I'm all for the grainy B/W film look as you can understand. The previous one was just too confusing. Much more contrast and definition in this one
