Something moved in a back alley. Curiosity piqued, Kyd Wykkyd followed the motion into the dark.

He advanced further into the alley, catching another glimpse of something large and dark moving in the shadows. Suddenly, a flock of bats erupted from a dumpster, surrounding him on all sides, screeching and beating him with their wings. He turned, watching them fly away into the full moon.

Then, he got that peculiar feeling of something bad being behind him.

"That's MY cape, kid."

Kyd Wykkyd whirled, saw the speaker, and, for the first time in his life, he felt real fear flood his body as he opened his mouth to scream.

Mammoth was in shock as Kyd Wykkyd entered the H.I.V.E lair, firstly because of the look that the teleporter bore on his face, secondly because of all the cuts and bruises on his body, and thirdly because his cape seemed to have been ripped from his shoulders.

"Dude, what happened?"

Kyd shuddered and proceeded out the door towards the bathroom.

From the couch, one of the Billies stopped playing video games. "Hey Billy," he said, "what's that awful smell?"
