I think some of the greatest works of literature are likely to concern both alcoholics and greek gods.
I don't know what it's really like, but I like to imagine people dancing circles of adoration and self-depreciation around each other. It's not pleasant to understand that you actually are so much worse—and it's at least as painful to learn that you're in fact so much better.
