Description
Another illustration I made for one of my nature articles; a monster exaggerating the real anatomy of the Rotifers or "wheel bearers." READ ABOUT THEM HERE:[link]
Certain species of these animals can "steal" DNA from any other organism they feed upon - even bacteria or fungi - and add the genes to their own chromosomes. For some, this completely replaces sexual reproduction and males have ceased to exist.

Why isn't this in Mortasheen? A vampire that is very weak but gains the powers of anything it feeds on for a limited time.
Mortasheen could also use...
Loon (causes insanity?)
Dinosaurs other than raptors
Gharial (imagine what awful things it might brew in its ghara)
Nonmammal synapsids (some were venomous!)
Caecilian (I'm sure you could think of a way to make it scary)
Parrotfish (already produces slime and eats inorganic matter!)
Salp (vampire colonies, instant nightmare)
Spittlebug, Treehopper
Yeti Crab (vampire minion?)
Coral (disgusting and venomous, of course, and maybe psychic)
Sorry, I was just looking through your monster list and thought there were some more possibilities.

They´re like much cooler Kirbies. I remember seeing one for the first time and having no idea what I was looking at - I couldn´t find them in any of the books my uni supplied at that course. Later I found out what they were, but it took you to show me how awesome they truly are. :3
I also very much agree with a Scythemantis drawing to go with each article.
