After the Audi R8 was launched on the streets, the German brand developed its racing version and was presented in 2008, called R8 LMS, available for private racing teams in the GT3 category.

Its V10 engine produced 518 HP at 8000 rpm and 390.5 lb-ft of torque, and was capable of running from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, a difference with the street version that was 4.6 seconds.

The new car was successful from the start as it entered the 2009 season: Audi entered four cars in the difficult 24 Hours of Nürburgring; not only did all four finish, but one car won the GT3 class and finished second overall. This was the success of the elegant sports car, both on and off the track, and in the future, where it continues to compete today with incredible looks and great sound.
