Description Lyzard us my diamond python. He's nocturnal, so during the day he does nothing except for sleep and maintain a healthy body temperature. Recently, he's taken to tucking himself in the corner there next to his log (the cooler end of the tank near the waterbowl, because the heat-lamp is at the other end). I tried to wake him up to take photos of him, but he just his hid head from view except through the side of the tank (right). In the photo at the right, I actually turned the heat-lamp off too... to get rid of the yellow-ish glare, so that is sunlight coming in through my window.

Typically, diamond pythons are wild snakes from Queensland, Australia. This one is from my room, Sydney, australia. I've had since a few weeks after he was born in march. He's only 9 months old here!

In the left picture, his scales look a bit blue. I used the flash in that picture (I couldn't for the others, because the tank is reflective and I was taking the photo through it), so you can kinda see how the scales do that. Sometime, I'll try to get a really good photo where you can see the whole colour spectrum in his scales, cause it's mad. I took this photo looking down at him, with the lid off. After I tried to wake him, he pulled his head in.

The reason I think diamond pythons are the most beautiful of their family (they're 1 of about 9 different carpet pythons) is because they're black with a single white spot on each scale, the spots being different sizes to form the patterns. We had a 6-foot dyamond python that only had small spots, so it was really obvious (We had to sell her)

And enough anecdotes, here you go.

Actually, lizard decided to show his bad side last night. My brother was feeding him a mouse, because his children's python wasn't interested. And Lyzard decided that instead of going for the mouse, he'd have a go at Ren's finger (not the fingers holding the mouse, the fingers that were out of the way...). So he bit and tried to constrict my brother's finger, then when he took the mouse he still tried to strangle the finger... So he may be only 50cm long, but he's strong and dangerous still...

Snakes are awesome...I really don't know what some people have against 'em. Now I can see where I'm sure you get a bit of inspiration from.
