Description
This piece I completed about a month or so ago, but finalized it a few days ago to take to the annual National Art Honor Society conference yesterday and the day before. I won a $1000 scholarship, not for this piece but for my portfolio.Anyway, each canvas is 7.5 x 1.5 feet. I started by throwing layers of watered-down acrylic on each of them, lined up as you see here. Then I lowered them down to a more shallow angle, to pour on thicker, more intense colors, then I followed up with pouring on a little bit of watered-down black acrylic.
When they were dry, I painted on the white design, and finished up with the red circle in the middle just last thursday.
Set up the way they are, the entire composition is about 9 x 5 feet, quite towering.
Sorry for the crappy quality of the shot, but I couldn't wait to show it to all of you.

wow, this one really stood out. I love how each panel is different but flows with each other. It looks really wicked.

This is absolutely awesome. Have you sold it? Are you interested in selling it? I fully love it. I can't even tell you what it is about it, but like all great art it just kind of stirs something inside of me that says "Wake up, Kristina! This is what beauty looks like!"
Sorry I'm not usually that cheesy. Oh btw I think I'm watching you.

Thanks a lot for the kind words, I appreciate it. And no, I have yet to sell it, though it will be on display/up for sale along with my other paintings and some drawings at a local restaurant in May or June.

Awww cool! You actually submitted this! That's so rad. You know I loved this piece. The composition is simply excellent. I love that it's real medium too. So solid. Makes it so much better than the digital renders of such styles that I see everywhere nowadays :] go you.

dude i really like this. im glad to see some traditional art, while not required or anything its still cool that you do both cuz i like painting and drawing and all that but im not really good at it. especially with digicams anyone (including me) thinks that they can just do amazing things but usually it all looks the same or bad or whatever. so aside from that, it just looks really cool, i love abstract things and the colors are so amazing. my favorite aspect tho is the solid and straight lines with all of the crazy, wacky, fucked up shit.
