I just figured that the Rainbow Power toys were for the Rainbow Rocks EQG thing. Y'know, the pony version of the crappy-ness.

If that were the case then they most likely would only have released the pony dolls with the EqG dolls; i.e. a box set with the EqG doll and the pony.
