I would paint the aura in blue, make the bg gray, mage's face a yellowish gray and the demon red.

I think it's the standard stupid colors for demons, protection auras and mages so don't use them

some of the flame lines are dangerously close to the pattern. The hands overlapping the design is also kinda weird for me. But those are minor things you can't really change now. The inking is very crisp and very nice. You mentioned in your journal that you do not know how to ink. Well I've been trying to teach myself how to ink for months now and you seem to be on par with any of my findings, so I can't complain about your stuff.

The composition is neat and I am anticipating the color. I'm a bad judge of what color should go into a piece until it is actually put in it. Once you submit your first colored version of this I'll know better how I think it should be changed. If at all.

Demons without genitals are scary.

damn that is sweet! i love the aura! very good job. do you know of Alex Gray?? hes the artist that does the new tool covers (among other things), if you dont already know him definitely check him out. this piece reminds me of his work.

Hey thank you! Well, I was thinking about leaving the main characters eyes blank, sort of like some kind of blind mystic monk or something... I dont know, I will try different things. I plan to color it in Photoshop.

this is really nice linework! i especially love the demon's wings. they look very realistic. the detail on/around the man's eyes is really great, and i'm not sure whether you intended to or not, but i personally think it would add more to the picture to have detail in his eye. as for color choices, i couldn't offer any suggestions there. i usually pick poor color ensembles, so i won't even go there. just out of curiosity, what are you going to use to color it? i'll keep an eye out for the finished product!
