I could flood the world, cleanse this place, tonight,
A tidal wave of unadulterated sentiment, crashing down,
Snapping bones, as twigs in a tempest,
Shattering skulls, like a great blanket of bullets upon impact.

Lost amid the mist of a diminishing dream,
Hearts frequently perish between the lines, where nightmares lurk,
Ready to snatch away the sweet air from greedy lungs,
Smiles, from wide eyes, replacing them with tears.

Tiny hands tug at corpses of deceased loved ones, but,
The comfort I so long for, will not be found against cold chests of stone,
Nor slack trunks of arms and insipid eyes.
Rather, between my own cold thighs.
