Quick little doodle of Impulse .Flash #92 was the first thing that I had bought with my own allowance. Being a fat, unathletic six year old at the time, I thought DC's speedsters were the shit. This issue had the first appearance of Bart Allen, aka Impulse, aka Kid Flash, aka... The Flash (much later), and I thought it was really cool that there was a super-fast kid hanging around now.
Also, I ended up freaking loving Mike Wieringo's art when I got older. Dude was/is awesome. It's a shame he's no longer with us.

I was just thinking about what you said about this being the first comic you bought as a 6-year-old and what I imagine amounts to a chibi version of you with a big, magnificent beard, in a comics shop to buy this.
