A curious thing about Shaun Tan's work. I had been drawing this way before someone here on DA introduced me to his work. I am now a fan and I am sure a bit of what I like about Tan's artwork has sneaked into my own artwork.
Thank you!!!

I'd like to ask about the circle around the rabbits head, i ve seen several circles in some of ur works?

The Circle: Totality; wholeness; roundness is sacred as the most natural shape (planets, bubbles, atoms). Infinity; the cycle, all things cyclic.
Here, the circle also represents a halo but more than a halo. It is also wholeness, awareness, enlightenment.
I hope this has helped! Thank you for your interest!

I agree with the concept, but don u think that infinity, totality are absolute, you cant see them in a tight object as a circle, your style is a already a dreamy vast enlightening style with a beautiful perception, to me circles are a way to tight such style, in my opinion you don have to do them, the rabbit is already in the clouds looking at infinity, to me the circle is a container that traps his head. I like your stuff anyway with or without the circle

This is a very beautiful work. I'm probably the only person in the world who feels there's something a bit sinister about rabbits, and for me this piece captures that: we have the fluffy clouds and the big, solid rabbit with the cute, rounded head - and then there's just a hint of something in the eye that makes you look again and think there's more to this. I really love it!

I do paint on almost any kind of wood except wood that has been treated for outdoor use or a piece with an oil based finish. I try to recycle and reuse when ever possible, occasionally receiving furniture parts or "scrap" wood from locals. The wood is cleaned and prepped for art making.
This piece in particular is left over luan wood panel from a precious project.

I reply when I can. I also re-read what I wrote and laughed. The word precious should have been previous...

Thank you!!
I am unsure what is the form of my spirit guide. I do enjoy painting rabbits, there shape and form interest me and their symbolism works with the meanings and ideas I try to portray in my work.
