Description A ruby-throated hummingbird perched on a branch. I found this one along the same path that I found the roadrunners, adjacent to a dry riverbed.

Advice/feedback, as always, are appreciated! Thanks.

EDIT: After looking more closely, this is actually an Anna's Hummingbird. Considering the ruby-throated hummingbird's range does not include Arizona while the Anna's range does, this identification makes more sense.

I remember hummingbirds being my favorite animal when I was younger and you've gotten such a good shot of a great one. Find it pretty neat that the feathers atop its head make it look as if it has a mohawk of some kind.

Thanks! It was fascinating how each time it turned its head, the coloration would change, sometimes dramatically. In other shots I took, the red in its throat was the only color that stood out at all.
