EPIC SIZED FILE!!!
I didn't want to make it 2 or 3 parts, so... yeah... bear with me.

ahem...

So, after i completed her last request, [link] , ~Cenedre asked me to make a tutorial on EVERYTHING, rather than just the small-ish tut i made on markings...

to be honest, i had NO idea on how to make a proper tutorial, so i just made Lyrica's manipulation and took some screenshots as i went along... so i guess that's called a... walkthrough, right?

either way, there you go. hope it's useful!!!
please, feel free to ask anything, and to tell me if you spot any typos.

OHHHH!
and PLEASE, please, link back to me if you do anything using this (just a link to your work as a comment)!
i have to see if this is really helping people out! thanks!

info:
time taken: over a week, working in and out... mostly out.

oh lord... that just keeps happening! i guess the file is just too big for most web browsers, but i can't make it any smaller or the text won't be readable!!! do you use firefox? it's usualy more reliable than internet explorer when downloading big files.

oh my, that's unexpected! IE usualy behaves like a little b**** when it comes to downloads!
either way, good for you! i hope my tut is of any use.

haha, now it won't work again, and may I ask, how do you get the tail and mane to get that "wave" look?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ShadinaLonesea In reply to NancyDrew105 [2011-06-21 09:07:06 +0000 UTC]

I'm so sorry... It must be all the updates DA has gotten lately, it's freaking out some of my others pictures as well.

Curly/wavy effect for the mane and tail:
After the mane is nicely painted/smudged, I add a few larger strands with a brush, trying to make them look wavy. Since that doesn't quite do the trick by itself, I also take the whole thing to the liquifier and shove it around with just a little bit of strength. Then, back from the liquifier, I'll make a few "bands" with a big smooth brush ACROSS the mane (not along it, like you'd do to add new strands), alternating burning with dodging. That'll do most of the wavy effect. Hope that's clear enough.

oh no!
so many people have downloaded it already, but sometimes i can't load it either (connection too slow).
i've tried to upload it to other hosting sites, but it's too darn big... perhaps i can e-mail it to you? note me about that.

yeah it would freeze my computer. Emailing it would be so great! and you can use this walk through for any horse manipulation right? I'll note you my email address.

ShadinaLonesea In reply to VexaRenaDeVandall [2010-10-26 10:11:48 +0000 UTC]

of course, you can follow the walkthough with the same one stock i did, or use any other stock pic, or even just take a few ideas and use it somewhere else! it's supposed to teach people a few methods, tools and ideas, so they can make their own pieces.
