Thanks

Just the one in my camera, I find it way too difficult to make sure the images and the exposure is consistent otherwise

Ok,
I think manual setting on the camera can be helpful to have always the same exposure, but all the scene can be correctly exposed :s Hard to cook !

I don't usually have the time to set it all up on the go

There's also a leveling problem, and my panorama mode will let you know how level the camera is

It's just most convenient, especially when you don't have a tripod handy

It is, but there are always limitations

Like I can't create a RAW panorama, so it affects my post processing

humm yeah, post process on jpg isn't so useful as the RAW :s
Thinking about it remember me I've always interested by testing and creating a HDR/panorama... a lot of work I think!

Ya

It would be! You'd need to set your camera's exposure, take the first set using continuous shot and a tripod, reset the tripod, and do it all again at the next exposure. It'd be hard enough taking three identical shots with the tripod in the same place.

Once you had all three you'd need to create a separate panorama for each one. Then combine those three panoramas!

That'a a lot of work, might be something to do when you have a lot of spare time. Sounds interesting tho, maybe I'll try it next summer.

Absolutly, spare time !
On my camera, there a feature named "bracketing", so it's possible to set up 3 different exposures... ex: -1.5EV   0   +1.5EV
so you just have to push the remote control to take those 3 shots by once, then you can continue your panorama... can be helpful

It's just going to take a long time to combine and render each one on the computer

And you have to make sure your camera is level and the the exposure is constant
