Sable was rewarded after a long nights patrol with a gentle kiss and the smell of fresh coco and a cinnamon roll from the local bakery down the street.

“Come on Samantha, if you don’t get up, you are going to sleep this beautiful day away, and I promised to take you to the park.” Her girlfriend Ellen exclaimed yanking off the covers and giving he exposed rear a playful slap. Samantha gave a high pitched squeal and sat up accepting the cup and plate, before giving Ellen a kiss.

“You’re lucky I have a thing for hot redheads otherwise you would pay dearly for that slap on my ass.” Samantha grinned in between bites of the still warm roll.

Ellen rubbed Samantha’s thigh and leaned over and took a bite of her roll with a smile and wink. “Promises, promises, now hurry up and get ready, I have a picnic lunch all ready to go and I scoped out a great little spot in the park near the lake last night while breaking up some kids partying.”

“You big meanie, ruining kid’s fun.” Samantha said with a smile as she handed the now empty plate and glass to Ellen and slid off the bed headed for the bathroom with an exaggerated wiggle of her hips.

Several hours later and a lap around the park in roller blades, Samantha rolled to a stop and looked around. “So this is what Dream Haven looks like in the daytime, it looks so peaceful and happy.”

Ellen stopped and rolled back to her, pulling her in close and kissing her neck. “You really need to get out more when you are not working baby. You work yourself to hard, it worries me sometimes that you don’t stop and smell the flowers.”

Samantha turned and gave Ellen a kiss. “I have a responsibility to protect people of Dream Haven while the other heroes and heroines are fighting the really nasty threats to the city. I can’t let them down.”

Ellen turned Samantha around and cupped her chin with her hand. “And you and your team do an excellent job of it. Crime is down 15% in some areas, I hear guys coming off a shift complaining that it was a dull night. But you have to take some time for yourself too, otherwise you will burn out.”

Ellen kissed her gently and stroked her cheek while staring lovingly into her eyes. “I love you Samantha and I don’t want to lose you to your work.”

Samantha stood there looking at Ellen for several moments before nodding and pulling her in close for a passionate embrace, before being interrupted by a roving photographer asking them if he could take their picture. Samantha quickly jumped up on Ellen’s back and wrapped her arms around her neck as the photographer raised his camera and told both women to smile.
