there are 3 kinds of Squid types.

Strictly Carnivore: Wear a stone around their neck that keeps the incubus/succubus from taking over. highly dangerous and deadly.
Strictly Soul Stealer: usually carry lanterns and such, known to entice creatures to their doom stealing their soul
Soulstealer Succubus: Feeds off sexual energys of their prey mostly, the only way for them to soul steal is to eat the creature whole and let the soul slowly drain from the creature.

Soulstealers and succubus types do not have digestive juices. even if they ate someone it would do nothing, and when soulstealing by way of vore it can take more than a hour depending on the size of the creature. when the soul is eaten they spit the lifeless body up because it can't be digested.
