Description for coping competition

______________________________

Flashabacks are a symptomof PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) where you find yourself re-living the event, again and again. This can happen both as a flashback in the day and as nightmares when you are asleep. These can be so realistic that it feels as though you are living through the experience all over again. You see it in your mind, but may also feel the emotions and physical sensations of what happened - fear, sweating, smells, sounds, pain.

This made me actually cry, but in a good way I guess. I have PTSD too and this sums it up so well. Very bittersweet in the best way!

I live in flashbacks. I didn't even know they were flashbacks til I was told about a year ago. Thought I was hallucinating/demented.

wow this was beautiful. the emotion captured is enough for a reader to cry. I've been in this spot where your slipping back under and you feel like there is nothing you can do to stop it, you just have to relive it even when you are desperate to make your surroundings real.
This hits close to home and you did an amazing job.
very sad but very beautiful.

This only ever happens to me when I am engaged in sexual activity's...never any other time. I'm not sure if it is because all my trauma is sex based. I'm not sure if it still count's either, but it is entirely to real and I usually end up making another personality when it happens.

It can be triggered by something that reminds the sufferer of the event.

I've have had my share of flashbacks and I know it all too well. They're not as bad as they've been in the past but still.

well expressed, and well described. I hope you can manage to calm things down that successfully all the time. I used to get lost first, and have to slowly find mt way out. Yay, the good news is that this stage does NOT last at this intensity forever.
