Description
This is a special update. In regards to how well Darkness Rising has been updating recently, I also started working on Redemption of a Soul II: Soul's Eclipse more.So, I decided to share something special: Using an outline of the original mystery dungeon overworld, I have sketched out how Mystoria looks using RPG Maker, since naturally, RoaS II takes place on Mystoria.
The world map shape is based around the world seen in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and the names of the dungeons are also from Mystery Dungeon, but the shape and design of the overworld has changed greatly for the Mystoria lore design.
Each of the nations is marked off by the type symbol, just as a reminder, they are:
Normal Nation - Pjanuri Newtrali
Fighting Nation - Ragnarok Isle
Flying Nation - Skyhaven
Poison Nation - Venin Swamp
Ground Nation - Amarillo Desert
Rock Nation - Mount Lapis
Bug Nation - Bosque Insectos
Ghost Nation - Spiritus Atria
Steel Nation - Mount Feracier
Fire Nation - Fuego Infierno
Water Nation - L'eau Bleue
Grass Nation - Viridi Forestam
Electric Nation - Mount Tonitrui
Psychic Nation - Pourpre Caverns
Ice Nation - Campi Ghiacciati
Dragon Nation - Dragons Den
Dark Nation - Connivers Caverns
and finally: ??? - Not actually a nation per say, in Darkness Rising, this island isn't even known, but in Redemption of a Soul, it is known as Faraway Isle, and houses 4 sections: Fiery Field, Brassbolt Mountain, Northwind Field and Mount Faraway.
Also: The island directly south of Faraway Isle is known as the Western Isle, it houses the Creators Cavern.
EDIT: As of the story, the nations of Pjanuri Newtrali and L'eau Bleue joined together and became Blancbleue Pjanuri.

what is the size of this map? I'm trying to make a detailed map like this that still has a lot of open space and this is the best one I've seen so far. What are the dimensions you used for it?

TBH, it's kinda hard to remember. I made this a long time ago in RPG Maker VX Ace, and it has since become outdated. I just kept expanding it, until I had enough space for the whole thing. By the end, it had to have been at least 1200x600 spaces; which is honestly kinda ridiculous. A smarter designer probably would've divided it into smaller chunks, rather then keeping as one oversized map.

I have a question for you, Where's the Fairy Nation?

Well, the truth behind this, is the map was made before Gen VI was out, so the fairy nation isn't included, however I did add it later on down the line.
The fairy nation is way up to the north, off of what the traditional map is known. It's in what's referred to as the "Unknown waters." It used to be connected to Mystoria (note the huge chunk seemingly missing from the north of the Electric Nation). That's where it belongs.

I write stories, so text instead. Comics I would like to make, but I can't do art well; and sprites are mostly not allowed on Deviantart unless completely custom.

The game isn't finished yet. And unfortunately, it's been on hiatus for a while since RPG Maker VX Ace was added to Steam. I lost the ability to use the program when I reinstalled, and haven't gotten around to redownload the program, since I'll have to repay for it. For some reason, they never sent me a Download code, and when I emailed them requesting one; I never got a message back.
I'll continue the game eventually, hopefully.

Well, a variety of types can be found in each nation, but they are designed for the type in particular. It's common to see other types around, as some prefer variety.

The tilesets are the ones used in RPG Maker VX Ace by default. I used all the basic tilesets (Which may not make it seem very impressive).
I may change the design of the map if I find a tileset I like more.
