Description "Ester where have you been? Master Darren has been summoning us." Zach said as Ester entered the foyer of their home.

"Out on patrol. In case you forgot we have a job to do. There have been an increase in the number of Lycan attacks which has caught the attention of the local authorities," Ester snapped.

She wasn't in the mood to deal with Zach's happy-go-lucky attitude or Darren's lectures. All Ester wanted to do was go to the shooting range and squeeze off a few.

"Well you don't have to be so mean about it. Look I can see if Darren will meet us in the dining room. I know you probably want to go practice your aim, but Darren says it's urgent," Zach replied, his voice remaining calm although he was a little frustrated.

Ester just nodded and disappeared up the stairs which lead to the individual quarters. Quickly, Ester unlocked her room and entered, locking it once the door was closed. With a sigh, she headed to her closet. After a few seconds of digging through hangers, Ester found the dress she was looking for. In an instant she was changed and heading down to the dining room.

"There you are dearest. My don't you look lovely," Darren said smiling as Ester entered the room.

"Cut the crap, Darren. Get to the point of this meeting or I'm going down to the shooting range."

Zach looked at Ester horrified and Darren looked as if he'd been slapped.

"What did you just say? How dare you talk to me, your sire, that way! You spoiled little brat!" Darren spat angrily.

Ester didn't care, she knew that no matter what she did to piss him off he still wouldn't kill her. She had been trying ever since he had killed her brother over a hundred years ago.

"Darren calm down. Otherwise you'll need to go hunting again," Katie, another member of the coven, said poking her head in the doorway.

"Leave us!" Darren ordered.

With a curtsy, Katie left the room, leaving Zach and Darren to deal with Ester. Once the room had calmed down, Darren spoke.

"These Lycan attacks are getting increasingly close to the city and the local authorities are now getting involved. I want this taken care of before they find us and it's all over. Ester I want your status report by the end of the week and it had better include how you killed the Lycan responsible. Zach you're to do the research, find out how much the police know. Any questions?"

Zach shook his head and looked at Ester.

"Yes, does this mean that I'm allowed to leave the safe-house at any time?" Ester asked a little shame colouring her voice.

Darren nodded his response and then dismissed them. Ester headed straight to the shooting range, Zach close at her heels. She couldn't do anything about him following her but she could ignore him and his presence. She signed in and grabbed her favourite pistol, a silver Desert Eagle.

"So where do you plan on starting your hunt?" Zach asked cocking his own pistol.

Ester ignored his question. She had no idea where to start. The city itself was an obvious choice but the location within the city wasn't. The attacks were spread out, no two were in the same part of the city, making it hard to choose a starting point.

Zach looked at Ester puzzled, she was never this quiet or rude. He decided to give up trying to get her to talk and focused on his targets. Ester did the same. After emptying two clips, Ester left Zach and went to get some sleep knowing that the coming night would bring her once again to the heart of the city.
