Description "It felt eternal, for just a second." She said as she sat there, staring at the wall. "I knew I was blissful, but I didn't really... let myself know." She added, then tilted back her head and asked with a giggle, "Who am I talking to?"

She would walk through the store talking to herself; it was nothing new. She embraced this oddity, she loved that she could keep a conversation with herself. It was embarrassing if people walked in on her, but if she started doing it in front of people to begin with, then it didn't matter. She spun the chair around absently without much purpose, thinking about the day's events, about plans for tomorrow.

Tomorrow was daunting.

So many people staring at her, asking her where she had been, embracing her and talking loudly. She knew she wouldn't be comfortable, but... she had to go. She had no choice against herself. Her mind fought back violently, telling her she could handle the chaos. Could she? What if she fell apart? What if she couldn't take the pressure? 'Herself' told her it wasn't debatable. She must go. She had promised, she had heard the tone of excitement in the other woman's voice, the glee at the very thought of seeing her again.

"A promise... yeah. A promise means nothing unless someone else hears it!" That's how she would get herself to go. She had made an absurd promise to herself, but then she thought about that promise. She had been alone. She was just one person, even if she referred to herself as if she was two people playfully. It wasn't real, she just enjoyed being an oddball.

A promise was something between two people, not one and oneself's mind!

She smiled to herself, finally. "Thanks for the talk," she whispered, closing her eyes for a moment to remind herself of that lesson. A promise was void unless someone was there for it to be kept with. Promising yourself something isn't real. It's like dieting. You say, promise, "I'll start tomorrow", but then you have another piece of cake "tomorrow" too.

"Perhaps, in life, you do occasionally need more than yourself to get through the day."
Just some days, though. Don't misunderstand, she was still very independent!
