Description
Beast Boy was playing video games just as he had suggested he'd be doing while Cyborg was away fighting the beast that had harmed Raven two days prior. Raven sat in a white chair within the book, legs crossed in her meditation position. Even if she couldn't use her powers now and didn't need to meditate to keep them in check, she chanted her mantra anyway to calm herself down, sort out her thoughts. As a result, it was uneventful within Titans tower, an odd occurrence. The only normal sounds came from Beast Boy and his video games, how he would curse the game if he was doing badly or go on about being 'the man' if he was doing well. But across the ocean in Jump City, in an apartment on a queen size bed lay Jinx, asleep peacefully. Unfortunately, sleep was slipping away from her. It was dark outside again, a full twenty-four hours since Raven had been trapped in what was once Malchior's book. A moan escaped past the pink-haired metahuman's pale lips as she began to rouse, began to feel the pain of her wounds. "Ugh," Jinx moaned, slowly sitting up in Kid Flash's queen size bed, sheets falling into her lap. Placing a hand on her head, she whispered "what happened", eyes finding the bloody bandages at her side. She placed a hand on them, wincing slightly. "Malchior." She scowled, remembering what had happened now."You let him out." Jinx lifted her head to look towards the door where Kid Flash was leaning in the doorway, arms crossed in a disapproving and almost stand-offish manner. "Um-"
"He's no unicorn, Jinx. He's dangerous. Look at what he did to you." The redhead scolded, blue eyes narrowed in frustration and anger. Jinx hung her head, looking away. "I'm sorry." She apologized, aware she had frightened the male with her actions. "I thought," she began, lifting her hands to portray the odds being even as she explained herself with, "Maybe if I helped him, he would help us by taking care of the Hive Five, getting them off our tail." She nearly whispered the embarrassing admittance, hearing Wally sigh. "Jinx, you're insecurities are showing." He pointed out the obvious. He walked over, sat down on the bed beside her. She looked up at him like a scolded puppy. He grasped her hand in his own. "We have to help Raven. It isn't right for her to pay for your mistakes."
"Raven is in trouble?" Jinx questioned.
"Malchior trapped her in his book." Wally explained, seeing Jinx's eyes widen. Because she had set him free he took his revenge. This was far from what she had planned. All she had wanted was to feel safe again. "We should go help her." Kid Flash encouraged. "Yeah," Jinx agreed. "We should." She got out of the bed they shared, slow and steady, mindful of her wounds. "Let's go fix thi-" Jinx didn't get to finish her sentence before a familiar half robot came flying through the wall into the apartment bedroom. "Whoa!" Jinx shouted in surprise as she scrambled back, finding her way into Kid Flash's arms. "Cyborg?" She asked in confusion and surprise. "What are you-" Wally began to ask.
"Little busy, can we talk later?" Cyborg cut Wally off, standing upright as a large creature made of bricks tackled the cyborg to the ground. "What is that?" Jinx asked, but she didn't wait for an answer to help her fellow Titan. Throwing out her hands three waves of magic hit the foe, throwing it off Cyborg. The metallic man sat up and said, "Thanks."
"You're welcome. So, what is that?" Jinx asked as the beast got back to it's feet. "Nasty." Cyborg said simply. "We've been fighting it for days, all of us. It keeps changing it's bio make-up. It's like Beast Boy, it can change. Into water, bricks, metal, oil- anything."
"Advanced version of Beast Boy," Wally mused. The beast lashed out with a red and white brick fist, barely missing Cyborg's head, who dodged just in time. Jinx threw more attacks at the beast, while Wally ran at the beast and delivered a punch to it's face, throwing it back a few feet. "Ow!" He complained, shaking his hand. "Dummy," Jinx mumbled, shaking her head. "It's made of bricks!" She scolded. "I remember! Now," Kid Flash whispered.
