Description
I sit here alone now,To tell the stories of those ungracious bows.
I sit here in rust,
Until I become dust.
I remember a man,
Who travelled this land,
In search of a helping hand.
But all he was, was damned.
They blamed him for murder,
They blamed him for genocide,
They blamed the voices,
And not societies choices.
In his mind he danced with princesses,
His mind gave way to darker recesses.
And he became a vegetable,
Left alone in his own dark tale.
I comforted him,
I cradled him.
As they beat him
As they cried devil
And forced in him chemicals
I remember a lady.
Who wouldn't give up,
She wasn't ready.
They tied her down,
And made her a clown,
Then her mind drowned.
Her mind drifted,
She wanted her worries lifted.
Yet she couldn't even understand,
What any man.
Wanted her to say.
I watched her silently cry,
As they tried to pry,
The fairy tales from her eyes.
Not understanding why.
And now here I sit,
Alone in the rust.
Forgotten as it was,
The people whom I hugged.
People have forgotten,
The barbaric ways they sought.
To cure the mind, or to let it rot.
Yet here I sit,
A Testament.
To those silent,
Spirits.
Because I never forget.
Time never forgets.

It is AMAZING to see what inspiration does. I feel as though you wrote that from being there physically in that room with me. Your writing echoes the very thoughts that were in my mind at the time, but from the point of view of the many people who once sat in that wheelchair, not from the point of view of the one behind the camera looking at it with nothing but wonder. I love this. I honestly, truly love this.

You're so welcome. Sometimes the inspiration has to churn for a couple days before the volcano erupts and it all comes pouring out.

I like this.
(The editing writer in me wishes to politely point out that there might be a typo: third stanza from the bottom "the barbaric ways the sought" - "they" not "the"?)
