Description
Miles away from the slayerAnd the dragon's lair
There lay a village
In ruins
Where people were dying
From many wounds
You could hear the screams
If you were indeed
Not letting death succeed
Many children cried out
For their mothers to come out
O were they blood curdling shouts
Bodies lay there
Tasting the last of their human air
Knowing only one thing
That God wasn't answering their prayers
They thought this thing
Was surely evil
Was surely from the devil
They saw the flames
Shoot out in streams
From the mouth of the creature
Why wasn't God answering
Had they not served him
Obediently?
The devils creature
His scales the defining feature
Feasted upon the blood
The ruins were won
Nobody knew this day
That people would live to say
Don't for get the village
Where the devil had his way

Your story reminds me of the poetic legends that the Druid bards would pass on as teaching tools, and as part of their oral history. I think you may find them interesting, if you haven't read some already, and OBOD is a great place to start.

well i can't say that i have, but i know that the druids are more in one with nature than the modern world
and i am familiar with oral traditions of many cultures, such as epic poems and what have you. I have found the lack of such a thing now or days to be disturbing beyond anything i mean sure we have tv we don't have to talk our myths out but many have forgotten the wonder of an adventure in epic poetry
