I don't know what the purpose of this tower's supposed to be, but whatever...
I didn't wanna scan this at first because the actual piece was kinda dull. But, after adjusting the hue and contrast, it was like, Wow! Pretty cool after all!
Hey, anyone want to guess the inspiration for this?

I was guessing either the tower of Isengard or Mordor.... ooh, but the Zerg spire! I LOVE the zerg!
Pretty dull? No offense, Shadowspark, but are you missing a screw? you're an architectural GENIUS!!! But I can see where you're going about the contrast. The way everything is shrouded in darkness, and how the tower's light is the only true source of illumination really sets a powerful mood in the drawing.
Your use of colours blows me away, Shadow. It's like the darkness itself is composed by all the colours imaginable, unwoven by the light to show each one as it is. Also, I really like how your eye is drawn to not only the light, but also to the tower itself, being the only structure that is actually drawn of one solid colour (very royal purple. Awesome choice, I might add).
I am awestruck.

Oh yeah! This's the actual inspiration: the Zerg Spire from StarCraft! (And also a robot I drew a while ago, but that's just for the light and wires.)

Cool! It looks like a piece of concept art for a game! ^^ I really love the sketchy quality of it. Kind of reminds me of the slums in FF7. : x

Wow, wonderful detailing. It looks so foreboding in the middle of that quiet little area. Great colors.
I just saw "Chronicles of Riddick" the other day so it reminds me of that NecroMonger thing that shoots out a big ball of light that comes back down and blows up the planet
