This flat color was my half of the trade I did with the ever lovely sighthoundlady , whose TEF-inspired character, Herla, remains as one of my favorite deer designs ever created. She is a beautiful girl and I tried to do her justice, but feathers are the bane of my existance!Β"And though she be but little, she is fierce." I am reminded of that Shakespearean quote, even though she isn't really the warrior type (unless you threaten to harm her children.)
I never know how to finish my pieces. Composition is not one of my fortes.

Pretty and vibrant coloring on the yellow feathers. Sometimes the color choices people use when doing yellow look kind of ucky but these colors work very well ;;

Thank you for saying that, I was/am still very worried about the yellow in this piece. I wanted it to look gold, not neon. Yellow is a difficult color to work with, one of my least favorites. I'm glad you approve

Β The detail in this astounding and I really love how you captured all the details of her design and stayed so true to it but at the same time, a different stylistic twist of your own that I just adore. Β Thank you so much, really find it quite inspiring! Β I also like how effectively you used blur to suggest receding into space, you made that look easy! Β I love this
