Ace panted as he stared down the last 4 conscious members of a group of monsters that were after Frisk, keeping a defensive stance as he looked at the attackers. He had already knocked out 7 others, but these last 4 were tougher and were smart enough to team up on him to wear him out. Frisk, the 9 year old target of their onslaught, was hiding up in a tree after Ace had quickly tossed her up into it for safety and calling for help on her cell phone. She had pressed the first number that popped up in her cell and when the monster answered, he listened to her pleas for help, and told the girl he would be on his way as he was close by before hanging up.

She looked down and saw Ace, her big brother, being surrounded by the last 4 monsters before they all pounced. One managed to hit Ace's skull hard with the branch they had found, but it didn't knock the skeleton out. In moments, the last 4 were out cold on the snowy ground and Ace stood as he panted heavily while wobbling slightly. He turned and weakly smiled up at Frisk, the girl seeing the right side of his skull was slightly cracked from the impact of the branch and his sweater and pants were a little ripped up before he walked to the base of the tree with his hands up.

"C-Come on Frisk. Let's go before these bad monsters w-wake up..." Ace said with a weary smile. Frisk nodded and slowly climbed down before feeling Ace gently grip her waist, pulling her close and turning to leave. He stumbled for a moment before walking again then suddenly fell making Frisk yelp in surprise as she hit the snow. "Ah... S-Sorry Frisk. Big brother's a l-little dizzy. A-are you okay?"

Frisk looked at Ace in worry, seeing his sockets were half closed and his right eye wasn't glowing at all. She squirmed free from his arm and tried to pull him up, Ace weakly trying to get up with her help before the girl looked up noticing it darken above her. She yelped as one of the monsters had regained consciousness and grabbed her, Ace looking up before grunting as the monster kicked his jaw hard enough to force him to roll onto his back before gasping in pain and weakly gripping the monster's leg when they planted a foot on his right arm and pushed down hard.

"Knew you wouldn't be able to protect her forever! With her soul, we'll finally be free from the Underground!" The monster said with a sadistic smile before pushing down harder on Ace's arm, the skeleton yelling in pain as his ulna cracked and his radius broke. The monster smirked and turned to walk off as Ace's eyes closed in pain while gripping his right forearm above the broken bones and Frisk cried in fear while trying to hit the monster's back to let her go. Ace looked up hearing the monster yelp in surprise and saw Nenshō standing in front of the monster. His orange eyes were narrowed and the feathers of his wings were poofed up in absolute anger as he quickly pulled Frisk away from the monster and put her behind him, the little girl clinging to his pant leg in fear as she trembled, before planting his feet in the snow and fire enveloped his right hand. He punched the monster hard, knocking them out and slightly burning their cheek while sending them flying into a nearby tree. When they fell from the branches and flopped into the snow, the fire on Nenshō's hand died down and gently gripped Frisk's hand before moving over to Ace, kneeling down and gently lifting the skeleton's sleeve up to look at his broken bones.

"N-Nenshō? How...?" Ace weakly questioned, the skeleton in pain and still very dizzy from the hit to his head.

"Frisk called me and said you two were near the school and headed towards Grillby's to go home." Nenshō said while looking at Ace's arm, placing his hands over the broken bone before a light purple energy enveloped his hand. Frisk watched curiously as Ace looked at Nenshō in silence, the man pulling his hand back after a moment. Frisk gasped in surprise seeing that the crack to Ace's ulna was gone and that the broken radius was now only cracked in two spots before he moved his hand to Ace's skull. After a few moments of silence, Nenshō's hand stopped glowing and pulled back from Ace's skull. Frisk smiled seeing that the crack was no longer there and Ace's right eye once again held the glow that acted as his pupil, quickly and gently hugging her big brother as she buried her face into his shoulder while trembling in worry.

"It's okay Frisk, big brother's okay now..." Ace spoke softly, Nenshō gently pulling at the skeleton's upper arm to help him up.

"You're healed, yes, but you're still going to need to get a splint on that arm and get some rest for a while. I healed the physical cracks and breaks, but they'll still be a bit weak. My healing isn't the best..." Nenshō said as he supported Ace. "Come on, let's get you back to your place so you can rest."

Frisk nodded to her brother and the skeleton, too tired and sore to argue, sighed in defeat before nodding. The little girl smiled before picking up her backpack and took the lead, guiding Nenshō to Ace's home. When they arrived, Frisk unlocked the door and opened it before Nenshō entered with Ace. He looked around and saw the bed before leading the injured skeleton over as Frisk closed the door behind him.

"Frisk, why don't you call someone to come bring some things so we can get Ace patched up a bit more?" Nenshō said as he helped Ace sit on the bed before kneeling down to undo the skeleton's boots, Frisk nodding before calling Urban. As she spoke to Urban and explained what happened, Nenshō continued to check over Ace before taking the skeleton's sweater off to check for more injuries. Ace blushed, obviously a bit flustered, before calming seeing that Nenshō was only being thorough to make sure he wasn't REALLY hurt then watched as he walked over to Frisk and motioned to see the phone.

"Frisk? Frisk, why'd ya go quiet?" Nenshō heard on the other end of the call, quickly figuring out who it was.

"This is Urban, right?" He asked, hearing the other skeleton go quiet.

"Nenshō? That you?"

"Yes, it's me. I think Frisk meant to call you, but might have dialed the first number she saw." He spoke while turning to face Ace and Frisk, watching the little girl climb onto the bed and worriedly looked at her brother. "I'm sure Frisk explained what happened and that we're here at Ace's house. He got pretty banged up, and I healed what I could, but his radius is still cracked instead of broken. I'd like to get a splint or something on his arm to support it as it heals and the crack to his ulna can heal more too. His skull got a pretty good hit to it too..."

"Did it break!?" Urban practically shouted over the phone in panic, Nenshō having to pull it back so as not to go deaf.

"It cracked a little, but I managed to heal it. On that note though, my healing isn't best so it might look better but could still be a bit damaged. He's going to have to take it easy for a while... Thus why I'd like you to get some things from the shop if you can. I'll pay you back for what you get, but I don't want to rummage around Ace's things looking for something to support his arm. He's a bit out of it to really give me permission." Nenshō said as he watched Ace staring at the blankets in a dazed manner. "I'm going to make something for him and Frisk to eat while I'm here though, that way he won't be pushing himself. I'll tell you the things I'll need and, again, I'll pay you back."

For the next few minutes, Nenshō spoke to Urban on Frisk's cell phone as he kept an eye on Ace, telling Urban what things he would need to bandage the taller skeleton and make some dinner for Ace, Frisk, and Urban. Once finished, he hung up and walked over to check Ace again, who had finally laid down after getting Frisk her backpack so she could do her homework while sitting beside the skeleton. Ace was still dazing a bit, but it was MUCH better than earlier since he was now talking to Frisk rather than just staring off into space. Soon there was a knock on the door and Nenshō walked over to open it, seeing Urban with 3 bags and he quickly took 2 from the shorter skeleton before weakly smiling. Walking over to the bed, Urban quickly put his bag down before scrambling onto the mattress and kneeled by Ace.

"Yo, F-Fuego? Y-You okay?" Urban asked while gently cupping Ace's cheeks in his hands, weakly smiling in relief when Ace looked over at him.

"Urban...?" Ace spoke quietly, his voice just above a whisper and a little hoarse, blinking to to try and focus on his boyfriend.

"Yeah, i-it's me." Urban said with a weak but relieved smile as he looked at Ace, looking him over to make sure he was alright. "Why is yer sweatshirt...?"

"I took it off to get a better look at his ribs to make sure nothing else was cracked or broken." Nenshō said while putting the bags down and began looking through them for the items he asked Urban to get for Ace's care. Once he found the bandages, splint, and some medicine for Ace, he stood and walked over to the bed as Urban crawled over Ace's lap to stay beside his boyfriend and Frisk. He watched Nenshō like a hawk, making sure that the man wouldn't do anything to hurt Ace or Frisk, but seemed to calm when he saw the man working calmly and quietly to stabilize Ace's cracked radius. After a few moments, Ace winced as Nenshō tied the knot to keep the bandages and splint on the skeleton's arm.

"Sorry about that... but this should keep your bones stable while they heal more. As for your head... I'd say just be sure to take it easy." Nenshō said before looking at Urban. "How much did it cost you?"

"Uh, about 90g total, I think." Urban said, not really looking at Nenshō as he spoke before blinking feeling something touch his leg. He looked down and saw a coin bag before looking up seeing the other monster grabbing the bags that contained the ingredients he asked for. "Um... What's all that for, anyhow?"

"It's for a soup my mother made for me when I was younger and not feeling very well. It can be a bit spicy if you want it to be, but can also be pretty mild too. I can find a good balance so it can be spicy enough for Ace but mild enough for Frisk. It's a beef stew with pasta to make it even more filling." Nenshō said as he brought the ingredients over to the cooking area of the home, soon getting to work preparing the dinner.

It didn't take long for Urban to smell the beef being browned for the stock before he looked down noticing Frisk crawl off the bed and walk over to the other monster, gently pulling at his pant leg to get his attention. Nenshō looked over at Frisk and smiled at her, kneeling down so he could look her in the eye. She signed something to him, making the monster blink before nervously smiling before she went to the table and got paper then wrote a note to him. He read it quietly before warmly smiling and nodding to Frisk, chuckling as her face lit up in a smile before she went to the table and dragged a chair over to the stove.

Urban and Ace, who was a bit more conscious of the situation around himself, watched Frisk climb up onto the chair and pour the pasta into the now boiling water as Nenshō stood again and resumed searing the meat. They watched as Frisk helped the other monster with tasks he deemed safe enough for her to do and helped her if needed, being sure to keep the knife he was using far away from her as he deemed it too dangerous for the girl. After some time, Nenshō placed the seared meat into the pot for the broth and covered it before helping Frisk strain the finished pasta then carefully helped her down from the chair before he looked up.

"Well, the soup should be done in an hour or so, I have it on a low heat. Once it's done, you can add the pasta and let it simmer for another 5 minutes then you can eat." Nenshō said with a soft smile. Ace weakly smiled back before nodding.

"Alright... Thank you for coming to help Frisk and I..." Ace spoke tiredly with a weak smile, his head starting to feel better thanks to the medicine Urban brought.

"Of course Ace. I hope you feel better soon and I seriously think you should take a break for a few days. I'm sure Urban or your friend Gloom can pick up Frisk and, if needed, I can too." Nenshō said with a soft smile. "Anyhow, I'll be heading out now. I hope you all enjoy the soup. There should be plenty for you to have leftovers for tomorrow as well."

"Hey uh, Nenshō... Can I talk to ya outside fer a sec?" Urban asked as he slid off the bed, Nenshō blinking curiously before nodding. The two walked outside and Urban closed the door behind him before looking up at the other monster, seeming pretty worried.

"Um... are you al-"

"I... I just wanted ta thank ya... Fer savin' Ace an' Frisk. I... I know ya didn't need ta, but I... I really appreciate it. They're..." Urban looked down at the snow, feeling his words get caught in his throat from fear realizing how close he could have been to losing two of those close to him.

"I know." Nenshō said kindly as he placed his hand on Urban's shoulder, making the skeleton look up at him. "I can see it when you look at Ace and Frisk. They're family to you. Like I said before, everyone that is down here has to watch out for one another since we're all that we have. Some of us, like you, are lucky to be closer to others than some."

Urban blinked as Nenshō warmly smiled before standing up once more.

"They're both very precious to you and to Gloom, I can see it. You all seem to just... click together. Like one big family. Hold on to them, Urban." Nenshō said before his wings opened. "I really hope you enjoy the soup. It's one my Mother learned from an old friend, but she never told me what his name was." He said before launching off the ground and flying off. Urban blinked hearing what the man said before deciding to shake it off for now, heading back inside and weakly smiled seeing Frisk laying beside Ace and hugging the skeleton's uninjured arm.

An hour later, the soup was finished and Urban mixed the pasta into the soup as Ace and Frisk relaxed on the bed. It smelled delicious as he poured it into three bowls and brought two over to the bed before going back to get the third. The trio waited for a bit before eating their soups, Ace and Frisk clearly enjoying it. Urban however froze upon taking a bite, his eye watering up causing Ace and Frisk to look at him in worry.

"Urban, are you okay?" Ace asked while placing a hand on the smaller skeleton's shoulder.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine... Just... Rememberin' somethin'." He said while weakly smiling. The soup tasted very close to some of the meals his father used to make, feelings of nostalgia washing over him, remembering the times his father would cook his own delicious soups and stews when the skeleton was a child. He wiped his tears before blinking as he felt himself being pulled into Ace as his boyfriend hugged him, Frisk also hugging him as he weakly smiled again. "I swear, I'm fine."
