It was a little past 10:43 in the morning when Rennakii arrived in town for supplies. The strapping male tunnel scrub had met with Caltha out in the field earlier that morning, the Goron woman asking a favor of him, and he agreed to help her in her plight. She was after a few things; lavender to test a theory on acid spitters, mint which he refused to get for obvious reasons known only to him at the time, and special mushrooms that grew near water sources found in underground caves located in the southern swamp lands. Knowing that the trip would possibly take him most of the day, the female Goron promised to pay handsomely and even gave him some rupees beforehand to help him get any supplies he may need. Walking into town, he passed by a shop whose location was burned into his mind, and looked up at the window.

Behind the glass in its display rack was the pickax that Rennakii had been pining over for months, his glowing blue eyes staring at the digging tool in a longing manner. Every time he was CLOSE to getting it, the scrub's funds were somehow hit by having to bail Midas out of jail, which thankfully didn't happen as often with the older tunnel scrub being a Hero of Termina now. There was also the occasional personal expense or someone attacking his personal storage den! He vowed to catch the thief or thieves one of these days... But, perhaps with Caltha's kindness he might be able to finally fulfill this transaction soon! A little voice called him from his thoughts and he looked up at his fairy friend Ingenii, or Genii for short, when she gently poked one of his sensitive leaves to finally get his attention.

"Yes, what is it Genii?" He asked calmly, his leaf flicking from the earlier poke.

"We should get going before it gets too late in the day, Rennakii. Otherwise we won't get out of the Swamps before nightfall, and it's too dangerous to travel at night in there! I know that Caltha doesn't need the mushrooms soon, but I still don't think we should travel at night in the swamps. Oh! She also said to be careful not to inhale the spores... Do you have something to keep them in when we find them?" The fairy asked. Rennakii looked at his pack that dangled by his hip and opened it, rummaging around for a moment before pulling out an empty bottle.

"Yes, right here." He responded before putting the bottle safely back into his bag, readjusting the leather pack before looking at the pickax once more. 'Soon...' He thought while softly smiling, then walked off to the marketplace.

The market was filled with the hustle and bustle of people running around, shouting offers on bids for items, and general chatter. Rennakii, to protect his sensitive leaves, stuck to the outer edges of the marketplace as he headed to his destination. He knew he would need at least some lunch, a potion just in case of a fall, and some rope if he needed to descend a steep drop into a lower area or to assist him in climbing. Having already acquired the rope he needed, he decided to head to a stall he knew of that sold delicious soups and drinks to obtain his lunch before heading over to get a red potion.

Once he neared the stall, he was surprised to see a familiar little deku child standing next to a young Sheikah male! Little Starla was bouncing in excitement as she stood by Akumu and looked up at him, the man handing the stall owner some rupees before handing his deku daughter the bottle he hand been holding. Rennakii was just barely able to see the man's smile under his mask from the bubbled cheeks and his softened eyes as Akumu handed her the drink he had just bought. The little deku took the bottle from her Papa and carefully opened the container before she happily drank the contents, a purple looking liquid that Rennakii guessed was likely her favorite mixed berry juice as he had come to learn.

The ginger headed deku scrub smiled to himself seeing how happy the little girl was as she sipped her treat before deciding to say hello while getting his lunch for that day. He began walking over and waved while giving a soft chuckle when Starla noticed him and pulled the bottle away from her snout.

"Papa, look! It's Uncy Renny!" Starla happily squeaked in excitement while pointing over at the ginger headed deku scrub. Rennakii's smile became more obvious hearing the adorable nickname, the little girl having recently starting to refer to him as her 'Uncy', and watched as Akumu turned to face him.

"Ah, hey Rennakii." Akumu spoke, his voice chipper as he pulled his mask down to reveal the soft smile he had. The young Sheikah quickly took Starla's drink from her when he noticed her movement towards Rennakii and chuckled as his 'daughter' ran to the older tunnel scrub and pounced on him in a hug as she purred.

"Oof! Haha, hello Starla." Rennakii purred as he gently hugged Starla back, being careful of her leaves. He pulled away after a moment and walked over to Akumu with the little deku, holding her hand gently in his larger one. The Sheikah kneeled down to be at eye level with the deku scrubs once they got closer, considering it rude to stand above those he was talking to when in a relaxed situation. "And hello to you as well, Akumu. How are you on this fine day?"

"I'm doing well. Starla and I are about to head out to help her practice her magic a bit more." Akumu said with a proud smile as Starla shyly, but happily, giggled. "And yourself?"

"I am about to get some lunch and then a red potion before heading off to the Southern Swamps. Caltha asked for help finding a mushroom and I am fulfilling that request for her." The ginger headed scrub spoke as he kept Starla's hand in his for now, chuckling as she cutely nuzzled his arm while purring in a happy manner.

"A red potion? Here, I can save you the trouble with that." The young man said while pulling off his backpack.

"Ah, no it is quite alright!" Rennakii started to rebuttal as Akumu opened and dug into his pack.

"It's okay, Rennakii, really. You would have to go all the way over to the west side of town then come back this direction anyhow to leave, either through town or walking around the walls outside, which takes away time from your job for Caltha. We can call this 'repayment' from when you watched Starla the other day for me on such short notice if you don't want to take it as a gift. Please?" Akumu smiled at Rennakii as he held the newly revealed red potion to the tunnel scrub.

"Well... If you insist." The tunnel scrub said as he took the bottle from Akumu, noticing the man's smile brighten in a happy manner as he carefully tucked the bottle into his bag.

After procuring his lunch and speaking with Starla and Akumu for a little while longer, along with getting many more snuggles from the little deku girl as well as a little 'kiss' on his cheek goodbye, Rennakii's spirits were lifted more and he headed out of the Southern exit. He began making his way through Termina Field towards the Swamplands where his search for the caves Caltha spoke of would begin.

Once he arrived in the swamps, both he and Genii began searching carefully for any hidden entrances. They had been looking for nearly an hour when Genii called out to Rennakii.

"Rennakii! Over here! I found one!" She called out, making the tunnel scrub look up from his area towards her. Genii was flying in a figure eight to get his attention and he quickly but carefully made his way over to the fairy and soon saw what she had found. There was a rather large entrance to an underground area with a small stream going into it! This was perfect, Rennakii thought as he remembered Caltha mentioned that mushroom she needed grew around underground ponds and lakes.

"Genii, can you check to see if it is a steep decent? If needed, I will have to anchor my rope somewhere." The tunnel scrub spoke softly.

"You got it!" Genii said before flying into the entrance, Rennakii able to see her glow even after she flew deeper in. After a moment, she returned and she fluttered near his head. "It's not too steep, but I'd set up the rope still just in case. Especially if you get tired later!"

With a nod of understanding, Rennakii took the rope out of his pack and anchored it to a nearby tree before giving it a few tugs to make sure it wouldn't slip. Once satisfied with the stability of the rope, he carefully entered the hole and slowly slid down the slight decline while gripping the rope so as not to tumble back. Once on the flat part of the cave floor, he carefully followed the water in hopes that it would bring him to his goal. Surely this stream would lead to an underground water source, right?

As he slowly descended deeper into the darkness, he could hear the sound of running water ending, so he knew he had to be near some sort of body of water. His leaves could sense that the roof was getting lower, so he ducked his head to keep from hitting it on the rocky ceiling. This was when he noticed something, causing him to pause...

"Genii... Can you possibly dim your glow, please? Or hide in my pack for a time?" The ginger headed scrub said softly, focusing on what he was seeing.

"Um... Yeah." Genii said before fluttering over, slipping herself into Rennakii's pack so as to darken the area. After Genii's soft glow was dimmed, Rennakii blinked in surprise seeing what looked like the soft glow of multiple colored lights under a lower part of the ceiling. His curiosity swelling, the tunnel scrub moved to his hands and knees onto the damp dirt before carefully crawling through the gap.

Once through, he looked up and what he saw caused his eyes to widen in awe as he froze. Before him was an underground fairy's fountain and the room that contained it was glowing softly not only from the pink fairies, but the different colored glowing algae and mushrooms that grew around the area, especially the ceiling. In the center of the room was a rather large lake. Well... A lake in deku standards, but more like a very large pond to humans. There was another cave entrance nearby that a larger stream came from and emptied into this hidden fountain, the sound of softly running water echoing in the space. Rennakii couldn't help but be awed from his discovery as he looked around.

"Genii, look at this..." Rennakii said as he opened up his pouch for his fairy friend to leave it, barely noticing her flutter out as he looked around at the natural beauty of the cave.

"O-Oh wow..." Genii stuttered as she looked around. "Rennakii... This place is beautiful!"

"I agree." The tunnel scrub responded. Considering how much light was here, Rennakii decided to take a small break and found a nearby area to sit and have his lunch. From his perch he could see the room in its entirety and he pulled out his journal to write about his discovery while drinking his still warm soup.

A Fairy's Fountain hidden that none know,

Unless into darkness one will go

Of colored hues and glittering light,

This cave of wonders and delight

Beauty and comfort for all to see,

Hidden away beneath the trees

I need a name this place deserves,

Though there is a lack of words

A special name for my memoirs,

A lake I shall call "Hidden Stars"

He decided that, because Caltha didn't need the mushrooms today, it wouldn't be terribly inconvenient to spend the rest of the day admiring the beauty of the cave and writing in his journal.
