Description
Summary: Tywyll Heliwr contacted the Kavosi asking him to meet her on Bespin. Once they met, the Kavosi witnessed Tywyll Heliwr pass samples of the Rhakghoul virus #5 to fellow Fetch. After the Kavosi mentions training Tywyll Heliwr, one of the Fetch passes a warning to the Kavosi about the dangers of training her. After the meeting with the other Fetch is done, the Kavosi tells Tywyll Heliwr that she will come with him and answer his questions, whether he would like the answers or not.RP:
Tywyll Heliwr had been serious about laying low after delivering a portion of what she had been able to retrieve in part from the Box to Mhyra at Oasis Station. She had hitchhiked her way to Bespin on board various vessels and once there found a place from which she could broadcast an encryted message to the Kavosi. The message was limited in its content and once the encryption was broken appeared to be a letter sent by one civilian to another. However, someone who was good with crytography would be able to determine that this letter from one friend to another was not really talking about shopping trips or vacation plans. It included Tywyll Heliwr's coordinates on Bespin and informed the Kavosi that Ty had dropped an important package with Mhyra. Tywyll told the Kavosi that Ty had asked their two mutual friends to take care of Mhyra and watch over her. Also, that it was of upmost importance that the Kavosi and Tywyll Heliwr meet and gave a location where they could meet. Once Tywyll Heliwr finished sending that first message, she sent another encrypted message out to Nocnista in Wild Space.
Tywyll Heliwr knew that it would be awhile before she saw any of the people she expected and so she returned to the aerial walkways of the floating city where she was roughing it. Every place seemed to have its own population of homeless and Tywyll Heliwr slipped into the lower class ward and mingled among the untouchables that no one wanted to notice. After a few altercations, the toughs of the street chose to do the wise thing and leave Tywyll Heliwr alone. She found an old run down park that no one had bothered to tend for some years now and took a seat on one of the benches. It started to rain and she sat there with Nigdy Ciemny until her clothes were soaked through. She found herself confused by a thought that crossed her mind that 'too bad not even the rain could ever make her feel clean again'.
The Kavosi was intrigued with the creativity Tywyll used to contact him. It made it clear she wanted to stay off the radar, and didn’t want to risk her location falling into the wrong hands. These tactics were similar to what the Kavosi used to use when going undercover for the Jedi several years ago. Despite the urgency underlining the encrypted message, it took the Kavosi a long time before he could get himself to Bespin, and even longer until he finally found where the Fetch women wished to meet. The rain soaked through his cloak and into his bones, giving him the sort of chill only the warm embrace of a shower could fade. Letting his senses stretch outwards, not worried of those who would sense his presence, the Kavosi made his way over to the abandoned park. “I tend to conduct my business meetings in the comfort of a Cantina, next to a warm fire.” The bench Tywyll sat on was propped against another bench facing the opposite direction. Kavosi sat there as he spoke, although the dark Bespin sky and the rain would make it pretty hard for anyone to see two figures such as themselves, squatting in the park. Even more useful, the sound of the rain would hide the words they spoke. “Then again, I suppose this isn’t a business meeting…” He glanced briefly over to Tywyll through his hood, before turning away again.
Tywyll Heliwr leaned against the bench and murmured, "No, this is not business meeting. I apologize for need of secrecy and sitting in the rain. It is of utmost importance that as few notice me as possible. Checking in at a hotel and hanging out in Cantinas is not my idea of lying low."
“I understand, although your messages didn’t mention your purpose.” The Kavosi glanced around, it was clear the Fetch women was terrified of being caught or trapped. She must have stumbled upon something important, or dangerous, if she was acting like this even around him… “So, what is it you sent to Mhyra? What is it you’re so afraid of someone discovering?”
"Understand, Mr. Kavosi, that I am probably telling you too much by answering your question. I am sure that you would never do or say anything to endanger Mhyra. I sent Mhyra portions of samples for the Rhakghoul Virus strain five. How I got those is another story and why I need to lay low. I cannot afford to be at Oasis station. No one at the station but those that Mhyra chooses to inform, know. The remaining samples are with me still." There are no feelings of fear or anxiety coming from the Fetch. Tywyll Heliwr paused and seemed to consider her next words. "My people are arriving here for the remaining samples."
The Kavosi turned his head to face the Fetch women. Was that trust he saw in her void-like eyes? It was hard to tell… “I’ve heard bad things about this new strain, it caused the Empire to glass Yinchorr…” Kavosi considered his next words, similar to how she had done just moments ago. “Where will your people be picking up the samples, and when?” Kavosi knew if anyone could come up with a cure for this new strain, it would be Mhyra, but there were still so many questions left to consider. Where did she get the samples? From whom? Was it the same person who unleashed it on Yinchorr? What purpose or motive did they have behind them? There were far too many questions for him to ask them all. “I presume you called me here to help you deliver them to the team your people sent?”
"It was the original plan to locate the lab where the instigators gene engineered this new strain in order to find as much information possible to aid us in finding a cure. In the process of investigating who might have been the culprits responsible for this new strain, I found that someone had gotten far enough to create a vaccine. Mhyra has a vial of that vaccine now. Though, I do not know how she may use it to create more vaccine to vaccinate others without implicating Oasis and herself. This is why I could not tell you in my message why I left...the two Dashades with Mhyra." When Tywyll Heliwr tried to continue, she found herself cut off by the Kavosi's question. "My people will not be pleased to see you here, though they will be polite as long as you are polite to them. I called you here to tell you..."
At this point Nigdy Ciemy projected to Tywyll Heliwr, *What? That you are owned? That you are not the person he thinks you are? That sometimes you must do things you would rather not? I have been listening to the confusion going on in your head since you sent that message. I'm still not sure that was a good idea.*
Tywyll Heliwr projected back to Nigdy Ciemny, *Well, what would you have me do? The asylum will not care that one of the most powerful siths now takes an unseemly interest in me...they will increase my debt. Kavosi said that this Serpent Queen will never truly let me go and she is far beyond my training.*
Nigdy Ciemny projected to Tywyll Heliwr, *So, you are going to change to whom you owe the debt? I would not bring up Asylum. He probably would not understand. Wait...if you are thinking of asking him for training...what happens when he finds out just how different our ways are? That one Jedi referred to your beliefs as heresy.*
Tywyll Heliwr sent back to Nigdy Ciemny, *Kavosi is no longer Jedi.*
Tywyll Heliwr looked at the Kavosi and said, "It is not practical for me to return to Nocnista to receive further training. After what you have told me of this Serpent Queen, I believe that I will need more training than I have if I am to suceed at my mission without being...recaptured." Tywyll Heliwr could hear Nigdy Ciemny sending the thought, *careful...* Tywyll Heliwr continued, "I am already indentured to an organization based on Nocnista...until I pay off my debt for my training. Despite that, I still keep a certain percentage of what I make...whatever it would cost me to learn..."
Kavosi looked over to her, not caring if someone were to see them through the darkness and the rain. It’s been a long time since the Kavosi trained anyone. “I’ve trained many in my past… All of them have either, turned to the Dark Side, gone missing, or have died… You’re already under an umbrella of risks, getting the notice of Dark Councilor Tharax… Are you really willing to add to that?”
Tywyll Heliwr looked at the Kavosi and murmured, "With all due respect, I am already in harm's way and that will not be changing anytime soon because of what my owners expect from me. I can not just go and hide in Wild Space from this Tharax. Especially when I could be of great benefit to Mhyra in finding cure for virus that places our whole galaxy at risk of pandemic that could end sapient life itself. It will be only matter of time before that strain mutates and that vaccine will no longer do anyone any good. What I need is more training that will increase my chances of surviving and not being taken where I do not wish to go. As things are now, Jedi and Sith both can sense my presence and if they want to do so bad enough, then they can kidnap me and keep me for whatever length of time that they choose. Tharax's fit of pique came as boon of Vis and I ended up on Vortex. I am in race against time to find cure and persons responsible for creating and releasing this new strain. Anytime that I am taken, slows progress towards finding both."
Tywyll Heliwr looked up and three other figures dressed in light grey anachronistic attire stood across from the two of them in the park. All of them wore long coats and two of them wore brimmed hats, scarves over their faces and smoked glasses. The third one had a smaller build like Tywyll's and wore something that looked like a bird mask with three eye holes that concealed her whole face. Tywyll Heliwr stood and walked over towards the three. No one spoke over a murmur as they began to say things to Tywyll Heliwr in Firsa. The Fetch wearing the bird like mask looked over at Kavosi and then back at Tywyll Heliwr.
“And so you wish to be trained by someone who isn’t as radical as the heads of the Jedi and Sith?” Would it be considered heresy to say such a thing, being a former Jedi himself? Probably, former Grandmaster Ellehna would have understood. She saw the direction her Jedi were going in, but even she couldn’t stop it… The Kavosi turned to face the three figures, presumably the Fetch team Tywyll had mentioned earlier. He didn’t understand their words, and wished Zachary, who had gifts in such areas, was here for once. After glancing between him and Tywyll, the Kavosi stood and walked over to them. His movements were stiff, it seemed the wet coldness of this dark night had sunken into his bones. “I’d like us to accompany them to your homeworld, Nocnista…” The Kavosi said the word as Tywyll had, knowing that if the Fetch team didn’t speak Basic, they’d understand that word at least. “So that we make sure the samples get there safely…” The Kavosi turned from the other figures to face Tywyll, “We can begin your training there.”
It became clear that all the Fetch understood Basic when they turned and looked at the Kavosi. The one in the birdlike mask reached a hand up to push her mask up. Underneath the mask was a waif like face with those void like eyes and black hair. She blinked her eyes and murmured, "You do not understand what that means Mr. Kavosi. It is no simple thing for outsiders to go to Nocnista." The woman in the bird mask nodded towards Tywyll Heliwr, "You say that you want to train Tywyll Helliwr without understanding WHAT we are...WHAT she is."
One of the Fetch wearing a brimmed hat and a scarf over his face, pulled their scarf down and began to speak. "We are not returning the samples to Nocnista. That would be too far to travel. We are not only ones...we are many...we are host. We choose to meet in small numbers to reduce chance of being noticed." The others looked at Tywyll Heliwr like they expected her to be the one to give explanations to the Kavosi. None of them seemed to be in a hurry to share more than vague statements.
“Then how about you enlighten me?” Kavosi took a step to make himself stand nearer to Tywyll as his gaze went from the masked Fetch to the one with the scarf. “Because like your people, I don’t trust those I don’t know. If those samples you’re taking end up in the wrong hands, or in the hands of the one who created it… Well i’m sure you understand the level of destruction that could be wrought…” The Kavosi turned to Tywyll, it was her they expected to respond after all.
Tywyll Heliwr understood why she was expected to be the one to give answers. Her people would believe that she had shared far more than she should have with an outsider because she was too gregarious despite her medication. Perhaps the three standing there were wondering if she was on her medication. Regardless, if there were to be consequences for this breach of confidentiality, then they did not want to be included.
Tywyll Heliwr murmured, "We are not looking to place these samples in hands of those who created it or wrong hands. My...companions and I seek to eradicate Rhakghoul virus once and for all." Tywyll Heliwr did not go so far as to explain that the Fetch had every intention of eradicating the individuals responsible for the virus's release, since no one accidently dropped a bomb full of Rhakghoul virus on a major city on any world. For now, Tywyll Heliwr decided not to explain to the Kavosi what the other meant about 'what they and she were'. She knew if the Kavosi asked her later, that she might have to tell him.
“It’s not your intentions I doubt, but your people’s dependability…” The Kavosi turned from Tywyll and then gazed into the void-like eyes of each of the Fetch, as if observing their character. “But perhaps I should have more faith in them, they seem capable enough…” The Kavosi held his hand out to the Fetch with the bird mask, as if to shake it. “For Humans it’s a courtesy and a sign of respect, to shake the hand of another. May the Force be with you on your journey, and may the samples stay out of the hands of those who’d harm the innocent.” Kavosi glanced at Tywyll, she probably knew he had further questions, but he wouldn’t risk getting her in trouble with her people; not in anymore trouble than he may have already caused her.
When the Fetch in the bird mask accepted the hand of the Kavosi, he was close enough for telepathic contact to occur. Though she did not attempt to force her way past his mental defenses, she did project a vision that she had seen through the force to the Kavosi. There was blood. Then Tywyll Heliwr knelt with her back to the Fetch in the bird mask, while she raised a blade over Tywyll Heliwr's head. Bringing the blade down, she cut off Tywyll Heliwr's head. The thought was sent, *I am hunter of hunters. Before you is tragic and perilous path.*
The Fetch released Kavosi's hand and murmured, "It was good to meet you, Mr. Kavosi." A smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. "We must go now. Remember that knowledge comes at price and you may not like answers you seek....just know that every word will be true." She lowered the bird like mask back down over her face and the other two Fetch offered to shake hands with the Kavosi before leaving. Whoever the three were, they were a good deal more advanced in their Force training than Tywyll Heliwr was because they disappeared in the blink of an eye and their presence could not be sensed thruogh the Force. After only a few minutes, it would become apparent that none of them had actually given a name outside the one in the mask calling herself by something that had to be an appellation.
The Kavosi smiled, but his eyes were like stone as he watched what the bird-mask wearing Fetch women showed him. His eyes returned to normal just as soon as she released his hand, and he nodded in acknowledgement. “The pleasure was mine…” The Kavosi did shake the hands of the other two Fetch, but after they left he turned his dark eyes over to Tywyll. A Force barrier suddenly erected itself around the Kavosi and Tywyll, blocking the heavy rain from drenching them any further. “If I am to train you Tywyll, then we need to talk…” The Kavosi would begin walking towards one of the nearby buildings, a motel he visited not too long ago. “I may not like the answers, but you’ve got to tell me everything…”
Tywyll Heliwr looked at the Kavosi as he started to walk away. Because of how close together they had been standing, she noticed immediately that the Force barrier he had created was not just limited to covering their heads, when she was bumped by the barrier. The realization that she was kept inside just as much as the rain was kept out brought about confusion and Tywyll Heliwr became plagued with memories of being taken by others with more training than she had. Like the indifferent doll that she was drugged to be, Tywyll Heliwr kept pace with the Kavosi as he led her towards the nearby motel. All the while, thoughts began to run through her head questioning if she had made a mistake and ways that she might try to escape if she needed to do so.
The Kavosi paid little mind to the raining that ricocheted off the barrier he had erected above their heads, only closing it down when they entered the motel and he bought them a two-bed room. After placing his pack on the ground, the Kavosi sat down across from the Fetch and started working on taking off his boots. The rain had made them more soggy than he was comfortable with, so after taking them off he tossed them onto the vent near the door. “I know little of your people… You’ll need to educate me if I am to understand what you know, and what I am to teach you.” This would be the second ‘padawan’ Tel’sar would train that he met through Mhyra, it seemed the Ulythari was beginning a pattern with him. “One of your people, they showed me a vision… It involved your death, a warning perhaps. Explain to me why she would warn me of something like that. Who was she to you, and you to her?” Tel’sar had many questions, his ignorance on the Fetch and their beliefs and practices were a void he wanted to fill.
Once inside, Tywyll Heliwr shifted her weight from one foot to the other as she listened to the Kavosi buy a room with two beds for them. She sighed when the Kavosi dropped his shield. She adjusted the distance between them so that she would not receive his surface thoughts as she followed him down the hallway to their room. Loathe to ignore the voice of wisdom, Tywyll Heliwr tried to push some caution-oriented thoughts to the back of her head for now in order to commit herself to taking a risk she believed would be worth the taking. Tywyll Heliwr stepped across the threshold and heard the door close behind her. When she did not hear it lock, she moved to remove her wet boots. Despite the room being comfortable, Tywyll Heliwr shivered. Tywyll Heliwr murmured, "Mr. Kavosi, I am willing to answer your questions...I need to use Refresher." She left a trail of damp footprints across the floor on her way to the Fresher.
Tywyll Heliwr was in the Fresher for a few moments before surfacing in just a bathrobe. Her ashen hair had been loosened to dry and hung down her back. Gone was the sodden headscarf and the darkened glasses. Three black void like eyes gave no more comfort than one had. She murmured, "Heliwr ap Heliwr, Hunter of Hunters...her purpose is to hunt down Hunters that become overtaken by their own darkness, who become warped and twisted monsters...this is hazard of my profession. As for vision she showed you, I would have to know more details. What you have given me is to little for me to answer whatever questions you have about it."
"It was of your death... I believe it now to have been a warning, perhaps she wants me to watch you..." The Kavosi paid little attention to her attire, but could not ignore her void-like eyes. They were like staring up into space, except there were no stars. "So you hunt things twisted by the Dark, and those were Hunters of the Hunter... Should you fall prey to the Darkness you hunt, they would come for you..." It made sense, though Tel'sar wasn't sure he liked the idea of his 'padawan' being watched by others, it only added to his worries of keeping her alive. When next he spoke, it was if he wanted to drive the conversation away from talk of her possible death. "Your Basic needs work, that's something you and me are going to spend a lot of time studying. Communication is the key in all things, without it, chaos. In chaos there are no rules, only war and death. That plague, the samples of the new strain, it would bring down those holding up the structure of the Galaxy. The walls of society would crumble, and the shadow of the sick would bring out the worst in people. You were brave doing what you did, but it isn't enough. Even Mhyra, may the Force bless her, could take years creating a cure. We need to strike at the source, and after some training, we will."
"Perhaps it was my death...do not be so ready to set things in stone..." Tywyll Heliwr murmured then took a seat, crossing her ankles and resting her hands in her lap. "Yes, she does want you to watch me because my occupation places me at risk by default and you are investing time into training me...making me more...capable. No, other two with her were not Heliwr ap Heliwr. They are Tywyll Heliwr like me. Mr. Kavosi, We do share a different view of chaos. I think we can agree that new state of being virus would create for galaxy would not be desirable one. Are you really worried about whether I speak with accent or not at time like this?"
The Kavosi sighed, before glancing over to the Fetch again. “Do you know how I came to be called the Kavosi? No, I’d expect not.” The Kavosi took off the clothes he wore on top of his more dry clothes, and set them off to the side before taking a seat on the bed. “There are a people who lived out in the Outer Rim for centuries, and though their planet was small, their resources were plenty. This made them a target for bigger entities, who wanted to swallow their resources up. There was an agreement struck between the people of this small world and the Reformed Empire, one that was supposed to be aimed at keeping things civil. The Empire were to protect the people of this planet, and for that, they’d be gifted with a portion of the planet’s overall output.” The Kavosi leaned over and tucked the hilt of his double bladed Lightsaber under his pillow. “But the agreement had been written in the Basic tongue, something these people knew little of.”
“Despite this, the people chose to trust the Empire, and the deal was struck.” The Kavosi‘s dark eyes gazed into the Fetch’s void-like eyes as he continued. “These people had ‘legally’ agreed to a deal that saw most of their resources stripped from them, and saw an Imperial police force presence on their world, to keep them from rebelling…” “I and… another, we helped them.” The Kavosi spoke of Zachary Nightwatcher, who at the time had just recently been promoted to Sith Master, but that was information he didn’t believe Tywyll needed to know. “They call me the Kavosi, the ‘Great Warrior’ it means, for my actions… So yes, I want you to learn how to properly communicate with others. If we’re going to find the source of this plague, we may have to go undercover. Not every disguise works if you can’t speak good Basic.” The Kavosi laid in bed and put the cheap blanket over him, turning away from the Fetch. “Get some rest, tomorrow is a new day, and we’ve got lots to work on…”
