Description
Summary: Tywyll Heliwr responds to an invitation to join other Fetch for High tea on Glee Anselm. During her stay, she hears secrets shared by the other Fetch and shares some of her own. This leads to a discussion about the dangers of both the Jedi and Sith factions potentially piercing Horizon in order to access the Far Umbra beyond, the perils of which are understood by all present. Also, Loruna Ardenal ask Tywyll Heliwr if she believed the taint of Jhor was great enough on Darth Nebula to warrant him being marked and hunted.Somewhere on Glee Anselm, in the remains of an old Anselmi structure, four Fetch came together for High tea. One among their number was Tywyll Heliwr, accepting an invitation received quite fortuitously after her meeting with Tel'sar, Darth Nebula and Tharax on Oasis Station only days ago. Tywyll Heliwr saw that they had all gathered around a fire and were sitting on fallen rubble. To the outsider, it might seem a bit surreal to find such a grey company dressed in anachronistic attire huddled together in a ruin and perhaps their mind might entertain fantastic thoughts of terrible rituals to be acted out at such a nocturnal hour within this ruin. Someone among the Fetch had found a few small round tables where everyone could rest their cups. When the host approached Tywyll Heliwr to greet her, she held out a small metal box and murmured her thanks for the invitation. Within the box, her host would find a certain type of worm and tentacles from some other beast neither native to Glee Anselm; this being a popular food to eat among Fetch.
The host smiled as she took the box. She was older than Tywyll, and the other two Fetch present. “Tywyll Heliwr, welcome.” The host, who was Loruna Ardenal, placed the box at the center of their little gathering. The delicacy Tywyll had brought with her was well appreciated, the evidence of which was painted on the faces of the other Fetch. Their smiles spread from ear to ear, revealing their intimidating rows of ferocious looking teeth. To others, the Fetch must look horrendous, or at least to the few who notice them. After Loruna had her fill of the delicacy brought before them, the others shared. When they finished, the host moved what remained in the box to the youngest of their gathering, Tywyll. “We thank you for this.” Her tongue flicked in pleasure before she managed to compose herself.
This was the perfect gift for Loruna, who hadn’t been able to eat such familiar foods in some time. Like Tywyll, she had been away from home for far too long. “We discovered a corrosive group of Dark Side beings operating in the Outer Rim.” Loruna Adrenal found speaking her own language pleasing, and much easier and forthcoming when compared to Galactic basic. “They plan to summon a monster…” There was a brief pause, as the other Fetch glanced to the host, who glanced back. Then the three turned their 9 eyes back to Tywyll. “You missed the call… Our Hunters are on the prowl, soon we will hear how successful they were…” One of the other Fetch leaned forward, when it became clear Loruna was done.
This Fetch was a male known as Melsnar. “You, along with other Hunters, were sent to find the source of the new Rakghoul Strain. One of those other Hunters recently uncovered the existence of a plague with far more catastrophic effects.” Loruna was surprised, though hid this well. Now the third spoke, this male Fetch was known as Kargram. “We have dubbed it the Doafu Plague. Mandalorians on Velmor recently fought a mini civil war against one another in order to gain possession of a mere sample. The unleashing of such a plague would have disastrous effects upon the entirety of the Galaxy, as we all know.” Kagram looked to the other three, before continuing on. “This plague targets those with a higher count of Midi-Chlorians, enough to designate them as Force sensitives.”
“It is believed to be resistant to Force healing, and is believed to be incurable. Despite this, we believe that right now it acts more as a poison, and cannot yet be spread like a true plague.” Now it was Tywyll’s turn to speak of what she knew, and what she had learned. Loruna had not been with Kagram and Melsnar, both of whom had already met with the other Hunter who discovered the existence of the Doafu Plague. It was clear none of the three, nor the Hunter they had spoken with, knew the location of this plague’s source. Nor did they know of Tywyll’s knowledge of the plague, or the fact that she had already made further progress than the other Hunter.
Tywyll Heliwr set down her cup and actually stood up. She addressed the other Fetch in Firsa when she spoke, "My dear comrades, things are perhaps a little more dire than I first thought. What you have all shared I believe confirms most of what one Sith Master by the name of Darth Nebula has confided to me. Sith Lord Rarqut created the most recent strain of the Rhakghoul Virus. The only reason I did not send out the transmission ‘Blaidd Drwg’ was because I discovered on the same day that Sith Lord Rarqut was working with one Darth Rex to create an even worse plague, the Doafu plague and I was made aware that Darth Rex was not in the same place as Lord Rarqut. On this day, Darth Nebula did gather together the Kavosi, Darth Tharax and myself on Oasis station to ask all of us to gather what aid we could against this Ancient Anzati's Spirit, which holds much Jhor." Tywyll Heliwr knew that all present would understand that any entity, living or dead, that possessed too much Jhor was out of balance leaning towards obsession with the primordial and exhibiting sociopathic behaviors. It was her hope that those present would choose to do more than just pursue the destruction of those viruses but also feel the responsibility of giving aid in the elimination of such a damaged spirit.
Tywyll Heliwr continued, "Lord Rarqut and Geomir, his apprentice, have the completed Doafu plague in their possession. The plague is a combination of Batrokk Morenzu's Force Sensitive Targeting poison, Darth Veika's Force Healing-resistant poison and the components Lord Rarqut used to make the new Rakghoul Plague Strain." Tywyll Heliwr shared the components used to create the Rhakghoul strain, which Darth Nebula had given to Director Mhyra Zyuneli. "Darth Nebula believes that killing Lord Rarqut and Apprentice Geomir along with compromising the Doafu plague would bring them closer to defeating Darth Rex. Darth Nebula has asked that the Kavosi and Darth Tharax assist in retaking the Helgate from a Force Witch named Medea. Darth Rex's alcolytes have an interest in securing the Helgate themselves."
Tywyll Heliwr pauses to take a sip of her tea. "Darth Nebula believes that both the plague and the Helgate must be taken out of Darth Rex's hands if there is to be any chance of success in terms of defeating Darth Rex. Darth Nebula seems to want to imprison Darth Rex's spirit in a chaos realm...he blames chaos for warping Rex's spirit from the start. None of them seem to understand the true nature of dynamism or entropy. I do wonder what result they may cause by attempting to imprison one so full of Jhor in a dynamic realm. This is where I believe they need our intercession. Those of you who are familiar with the Ars Manium who wish to help may find it helpful to know that Darth Rex's original name was Jorn Kendarr. Apparently, Jorn Kendarr's tomb is located beneath the surface of Korriban. Darth Nebula claims that Darth Tharax and himself know the exact location of the tomb. I would not trust Darth Tharax, she claims to have captured one of our people and dismembered them. I have never been able to confirm her claim. As for the last known location of Lord Rarqut, he was on the Imperial space station called 'The Box'. The closest supply ships to the station take off from Dromund Kaas. Lord Rarqut gave me the impression of being a rather overconfidant individual and I have my doubts that he would feel threatened enough to change the location of his lab after the theft of the Rhakghoul V strain. He will have undoubtedly increased his security measures since my last visit. Now, I do apologize for being so long winded. I believed that what I had to say was both urgent and important. Forgive me for being so bold as to ask, would any of you be willing to lend your aid in this matter? "
Loruna Ardenal listened patiently as Tywyll spoke, and took note when she shared the components that Darth Nebula had gifted to Director Mhyra. When Tywyll paused, Loruna took a sip of her own tea. Melsnar and Kargram did not, instead they waited in anticipation of what Tywyll would say next. When she finished, all three had drunk the remainder of their tea, and now sat back in their chairs. Loruna spoke first, shaking her head. “This chaos realm you speak of… I believe it to be the Hollow Plane.
This, dynamic realm, holds various creatures and beasts the likes we’ve never seen before.” Loruna looked to Melsnar and Kargram, before continuing. This was what they held back, only moments earlier. “We have other Hunters taking their marks, bringing down those who’ve foolishly tried to open the Hollow Plane and allow its sea of monsters through. I must oversee them, and so I cannot help you.” Melsnar spoke then, putting down his cup just as Loruna had finished. “They do not need us all. I, Tywyll, will join you in finding this Doafu Plague.” Melsnar said nothing more.
Now Kargram spoke, “I too, will help you. But know that our mission’s priority is not the Doafu Plague. Although it is important, this Jhor-filled spirit, needs to be properly dealt with. These, ‘allies’ of yours, we cannot trust them to understand the implications of their flawed beliefs.” Kagram paused, thinking of the spirit’s name, Jorn Kendarr. “You and Melsnar may face Rarqut, but I will gather any information I can on the life of this, Jorn Kendarr. For it is he who we must face in the end…”
Loruna would aid the Hunters dealing with the Dark Side summoners, Melsnar would aid Tywyll in compromising the Doafu Plague. And if they succeeded, Kargram would join them in defeating Jorn Kendarr. “Tel’sar, your teacher…” Know it was Loruna who now spoke. “You trust him to be able to handle working alongside this, Tharax,” Even the name sounded bound on her tongue, but said it she did. To know thy enemy, you must first be able to name them. “And Nebula… We’ve heard much about this boy. I’m not yet sure if he should be marked and hunted.
His father’s blade, Mulgrum, held evil properties. It morphed the child who wielded it, and now I hear that the child is grown.” Courtesy of the Helgate, although that part she did not say aloud. “Still, the Dark Prince has served us before, when he slew the ‘Dark God’ ,his former master, Scotos had become." Loruna looked to both Kargram and Tywyll, who both knew less than her. “It was said the Dark Prince was aided in this endeavor, which happened years ago, by an Anzati known as Jorn Kendarr.”
“If these Anzati are one and the same, perhaps we can understand why Nebula would defend him. And perhaps… Perhaps we will not allow the condemnation of Jorn’s spirit to the Hollow Realm, where it can only become more twisted.” Kagram and Melsnar were surprised, neither had known the Dark Prince had been on their radar before. Certainly Darth Nebula didn’t know, but the Fetch have been hunting Dark Side beasts before Nebula’s birth, and they would continue doing so after he’s taken his last breath.
Because of the drug in Tywyll Heliwr's system, she was not one for fits of hysteria or outbursts of anger. Tywyll Heliwr did sit back down and took a moment to hold her head in her hands. She mussed her hair and looked around at everyone else seated in the group. As everyone else seated there, Tywyll Heliwr was well schooled in the Rhakasah Curricula though her personal studies had been less focused on the Ars Manium. Still, she understood that what outsiders were calling the Hollow Plane was no plane at all. There was indeed little known about the 'Deep Umbra' other than the fact it stretched into the far reaches of the Tellurian. Outsider scientists had attempted to set it into a static reality- succeeding in convincing most Outsider races that all that lay outside their planet's atmosphere was empty space and some life bearing worlds among millions of lifeless planets. At present, the physical side of reality might substantiate that belief to a degreee but the spiritual side of the Deep Umbra was rich with possibilities. Within its reaches lay the Shard Realms and their corresponding Shade Realms, paradox realms, wild spirits, some umbrood realms, crazed Marauders and perverted Primordials. Strange atmospheric conditions prevailed in the Deep Umbra like reality storms. Horizon was the barrier that seperated the Deep Umbra from the Near Umbra areas as the Gauntlet was the barrier that seperated the physical world and the spiritual. Horizon protected the nearer realms from constant invasions by Marauders, perverted Primoridals and malign alien denizens of the farthest realities. Tywyll Heliwr knew that beyond the comforting boundaries of the Gauntlet and Horizon lurked bizarre, unknowable creatures whose only desire was to penetrate those barriers and either devour everything in their path or control the whole of the Tellurian. Tywyll Heliwr understood that their minds could not cope with some of the horrors that dwelt in the Deep Umbra and any who chose to deal with such beings usually perished or were driven permanently insane.
By the Vis, thought Tywyll Heliwr, how in the worlds had either the Jedi or Sith factions been able to gain what little knowledge they had grounded so firmly in the spiritual? All she knew for sure was that both of these factions had just enough knowledge to be extremely dangerous. If they succeeded in piercing Horizon, as Loruna feared they might, then everything could be lost; just like if fantastic creatures long gone from the physical realm were killed in the Umbra, then they could be destoyed permanently and it would be as though they never existed, so too could everything in the Tellurian. That would be the worst case scenario. The lesser of the two nightmares would be if 'The Hollows' were a Mirror Zone of the Deep Umbra. That wasn't much better though. Tywyll Heliwr knew that she could never ask Loruna to step away from the task Loruna had already commited herself to do. Loruna had to be where she planned with other hunters in order to prevent a bunch of fools from opening something they could have little hope of ever closing.
Finally, Tywyll Heliwr nodded and murmured, "Melsnar and Kargram, your offer of help is much appreciated and I am glad to accept it. Loruna Ardenal, I understand your need to remain commited to a different task." Tywyll Heliwr sat up straight and murmured, "Loruna, you have asked me if I trusted Tel'sar's ability to work alongside Tharax... I do not believe that Tel'sar can work alongside Tharax because she is so steeped in Jhor that if she were Fetch, she would be considered a Spectre. I witnessed first hand the results of her experiments on board the Dark Testament. I have spent a good deal of time with Tel'sar to know that any supposed truce between those two has the same chance of an ice cube surviving being hurled into a celestial body. You speak of the possibility of Darth Nebula possessing to much Jhor? Not enough to where he would be beyond saving. Tharax, on the other hand..."
Tywyll Heliwr drew the dish full of the delicacy that she brought towards herself and took a small portion in order to not seem rude. She did not take a bite immediately but murmured, "Kagram, Melsnar, I would like to speak with you after tea about transportation. I have never actually learned to pilot a ship. I hitched a ride here to avoid being tracked. I seem to defy the odds of late when it comes to attracting Sith." Tywyll Heliwr would not give the two other Fetch the name of the meeting place until after tea.
Loruna nodded, hearing Tywyll as she spoke of Tharax and Nebula. She would take Tywyll’s word on Darth Nebula, for now… Should the boy prove her wrong in the future, then Loruna may have to intervene more directly. “We will deal with Tharax, but not today…” Loruna eyed Melsnar and Kargram, both of which nodded in understanding. “Your current issue is Jorn Kendarr and the Doafu Plague, when all that is said and done, we can begin to deal with Tharax and the Helgate. And if you believe Nebula is not beyond saving, perhaps we’ll deal with him as well.” Loruna Ardenal stood; the Fetch was beginning to get incoming messages from other Hunters. “I apologize for my hasty leave, but there are others in need of me.” Melsnar and Kargram both stood for the elder Fetch, bowing their heads ever so briefly as she began to head out. After she had gone, Melsnar spoke. “Let us hope this, Tel’sar, is able to do his part.” Kargram spoke next. “The Jedi and the Sith are infants in their knowledge over the Vis. Our people have tried for centuries but we’re unable to change them. It has to come from within their groups…” A moment of pause before Melsnar began to speak again. “Of course, I can take you where you need to go.” Kargram, who was the only one besides Tywyll who hadn’t finished his tea, finally did so. He gently placed the cup down and took a small portion of the delicacy Tywyll had shared with them.
