Description ok, so I said no mroe of my cousin, but I guess its safe to say I lied..

my adorable cousin Zach.. I miss him.. he's such a sweetheart.. he heard his mom come home and ran to the newly built gate and stood, confused and curious, looking for his mom.. I love him!!

Yeah, a fast film, high ASA(ISO) setting gives much grain, which isn't suitable for a lot of shots..it just all has to do with the light. I heard a photographer once say that your image is like your ingredients in food and the light is like the spice. This has a great composition and much potential. If the lighting was a bit better you could have got a nice warm glow to the photo to make it more dramatic. This photo has neither a warm or cool temperature, more like neutral, which many people will think is boring..unfortunately. Like I said, you did what you could and I still like the end result

I like grain in black and whites, but not colors.. and, as I mentioned.. somewhere, I suck at photo editing, so I guess I should try to fiddle with some things more.. plus, I was looking at some of my photos on a campus computer and obviously my laptop's lcd is darker than usual.. at least their monitors.. hah

Most of the time you don't see shots from behind with a good composition, but this is an exception. The mood given by the boy looking through the fence adds to the composition! I wish the lighting was more intense...of course it's nothing you can control...I like it a lot though.

you leave very good comments.. he was in the shadow of the house and I tried to brighten it, but I eventually opted to leave it as is... I couldn't keep him still for 2 seconds, so I had to decrease the shutter speed, then to compensate for the shutter, up the ISO, which gave it a grainy look that I"m not a fan of.. wonder if it'll look better desaturated (although I love the colors)?

thanks much!

That's so sweet! Makes me want to look at the other side of the gate and say 'peek-a-boo!'
