Description
1974 Shadow DN4Chassis DN4-1P
Displacement: 8350cc
I waited 30 minutes for this 1/2 second exposure. It looks like I shot this in my studio, but that's not the case. Hundreds of people showed up to the last Cars and Coffee of the season. Many of them were blocking my camera while I outwitted and outlasted their presence. With no tripod in my possession, I made good use of a mechanic's workbench and a cable release.
Prime time photography! 85mm Micro NIKKOR 1:3.5G ED
As always, thank you to Bruce Canepa and the staff at Canepa Motorsports for letting me have access to your facility.
This photo dedicated to a good friend I've never met, CapnDeek373 .

It was a difficult photo to capture as there were many people in the area and I was standing a good distance away with no control over who was standing around, admiring the car.

We used to combine the entire neighborhoods tracks into one big humongous track and go from there!

This is sweet as all hell!
I've actually got a pretty nice '73 CanAm tee with the Shadow on it. (I got it on a vintage race weekend at Watkins Glen)
That's a fun weekend. Haven't been there in a while, but we always cracked up
and were impressed by those guys who restored classic race cars, then raced them and didn't coddle them.
They raced hard to win!
And look what happens….

You're absolutely right. Canepa is working to repair fiberglass damage to the left side of Bruce's '79 Porsche 935. Another driver ran too hot into Turn 4 and got into him at the Rolex Historic event last month. Fortunately, Canepa has the resources and expertise to make things right again. I'll be uploading that Porsche one day in the future.
