Description
Invader Name: Mildly Essential Substitute HeroHeight: 5’7’’
Technical Gender: Male
Age: 20
Nickname: Mesh or Hero
Title: Mercenary
Rank: Major
Species:Arctic Qwuedeviv
Appearance: Mesh is a fluffy Qwuedeviv. Its fur is a dusty brown with white speckles around its shoulder, upper back and knees. Its fingers and toes are tipped with a muddy brown as is the thin mask surrounding its eyes. Its ear tips are white. Finally its eyes are a bright blue.
Personality: If there was one word to describe Mesh it would be intense. Mesh has a focused intensity not commonly found amongst the Qwuedeviv. Given the wide range of freedoms it has, Mesh has a lot of opportunity to do things as it prefers. Mesh is loyal to the Qwuedeviv Leadership above the species itself. This is because a Qwuedeviv of its position must be trustworthy beyond doubt to the leaders’ word. When not on the job, Mesh is actually a really nice and casual sort of ‘deviv, but ‘strictly business’ matters can change it to fierce hunter. It has always been very reliable and gets good results with its missions. Of course it is kind of a nightmare to most Qwuedeviv it meets due to the nature of its job description.
Background: Mesh grew up on Qwuh-9 as most Qwuedeviv do. Unlike most Qwuedeviv however, it grew up with a junkyard as its home. As a kitten it roamed the streets when not at the Academy and was in regular scuffles and fights. It has a lot of street knowledge from this obviously. It’s been to quite a few places in its fairly short career and has had the opportunity to meet a lot of different species.
Mesh is a mercenary in charge of hunting down deserters and revolutionists of the Qwuedeviv species. Such follies are not allowed by Qwuedeviv ruling leadership. So unlike the other Qwuedeviv, Mesh is almost never at its home planet and likewise rarely sees the ongoing planetary battles aside from in occasional passing.
Mesh may stop in to visit crews occasionally if work is slow or to try and pick up on any leads, but it doesn’t stay anywhere for long unless it has confirmation that a Qwuedeviv it is looking for is located there somewhere. Mesh isn’t quite as mean as Smog is, but it carries out its job without a second thought. More often than not, Mesh and crew are carrying live cargo back to Qwuh-9. It is generally for the benefit of their merchandise as they refer to it, to be killed on site than to be transported home. The latter indicates the Qwuedeviv Commanders are especially angry or wish to make an example of them.
Mesh works well with both Smog and Captain. It is one of the few Qwuedeviv groups—even if small—that actually get along well on a regular basis. The three are like family to one another since they are primarily each other’s company though. They may fight at times, but the success of their missions is fairly dependent on one another.
Facts:
Mesh keeps fairly constant contact with Spork. The two have worked together in the past and Spork is fairly knowledgeable about the things happening around it which can sometimes prove useful info for mesh.
Mesh is very fluffy and considered ‘cute’ amongst Qwuedeviv.
If the small mercenary crew must stay on a given planet for any length of time, Mesh disguises itself as an auto mechanic.
Mesh has been given its own ship from the Qwuedeviv Commanders and occasionally modifies things as it pleases. It has pretty good knowledge as a mechanic.
Mesh never actually leads any portion of their military units, but its rank denotes certain privileges and required respect of lower rank Qwuedeviv.

Look at that happy Mesh down in the corner--a rare glimpse of smiles in an otherwise tough-looking character. You're a great character artist because I like how you can take one degree of expressions and stretch it out to encompass a few other different emotions, like looking tough but being smug. Or looking tough and being angry looking for a fight...two completely different things. This reference sheet is a great point of interest for proving my explanation, so it definitely works out in the end when it comes to diversifying expressions.
Nice job Mega.

Sure thing, hah. I like when I can actually come up with more meaningful in-depth comments from time to time like I used to rather than just silly one-liners like I seem to have been doing since last summer.

Oh yeah, it can certainly be more of an easy way out when you can't think of anything else when you go for a one-liner (which aren't bad when others do it; I just personally feel lazy when I do it because of the kinds of comments others expect out of me by now).

Makes sense XD but I think most people still prefer a one liner above no comment at all ^u^
