I saw Meerkat Manor last night on Animal Planet, and I think I'm becoming obsessed with meerkats (went over to the mall and had a craving to buy meerkat plushies).

But I drew this while watching the premiere of the series. It's during the scene when Shakespeare got bit twice by a puff adder; once on his face and the other on his leg. And during some parts of the episode when he was shown, all he could do is just sit, weakened. At first, it was a bit depressing; with him being my favorite of the Whiskers family. I actually felt like I just want to pick him up and pet him till he got okay.

***SPOILER***However, he did survive by the next day. YAY!***SPOILER***

Anyway, since this is a live-action show... *gasp* (I hardly watch live-action series) ...It was a tad hard to get him to be drawn in a cartoon way. But, IMO, he turned out to be really cute. ^.^ I think I'm in love... LOL! Might even make a meerkat fursona... hehee As for his pose in the drawing... I tried to imitate how he was sitting (I'm not sure if it's 100% anatomically correct - it's my first time drawing a meerkat, you know), but I added him holding his nose to show that he was bit on the face (aww... ). The photo in the background is from SXC.

Took most of this evening to color it from turning it to a blue-sketch to the last bit of shading... About a couple hours, really. And it took 3 programs to turn it to this; in order, Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, and Photoshop Elements 3.0.
