Worked on this since this morning... Originally supposed to be the "FFXII Challenge" avy between Xem and me. But there was a problem with the eyebrows edits (my scanner hates tracing paper).
FYI, the eyebrows were supposed to go downwards whenever they don't smile. I would've reverted to my other layout idea, but it didn't seem to have that "shared avatar" effect.This only took nine different frames, but the loop animation itself took 24 frames in total. I need work on making animations... D8
I'm still counting this as the "FFXII Challenge" avatar... And I'll make another one after our challenge. >D I have two in mind, but I'll make my decision with Xem when that time comes. :B
Colored this in Photoshop and compiled in Animation Shop. Here is the original... [link] (all appearing frames are derived from just that piccy; though the edited eyebrows were separately drawn).
I have the avys separately made too, but I'm not changing mine yet. :B *waiting for Xem to get online*

This was actually even more complicated to compile together than my last one... LOL!
Coloring was no problem though (easier than coloring traditionally, believe it or not); however, Saix's hair seems a bit off, but I'm too lazy to fix it up (the shine doesn't blend in well enough).
But with how the layers were, grabbing the nine different frames for each took a while. Then putting them altogether in Animation Shop had to be placed carefully (since not only they blinked, their mouths changed too). And the timing took a couple tries too. At first, I set 150 for whenever their eyes stayed open, but that took too long, so I set it at a shorter time (made it 25 instead) during some of them, and it made it a bit better.
I bet you can make an avatar like this... You just need to plan things out carefully as you work with it. :B
