I'm terribly sorry for my absence lately. I've been really busy with work... When I finally found a free moment last night, I decided to quickly draw Mikey because I needed to "vent" out my feelings. lol! (Plus, Mikey is my dad's favorite turtle. He liked this a lot.)
I wasn't sure how I wanted to color this picture at first, so I actually have a couple of other versions. Which you can see here (if you're interested): sharpbluepencils.tumblr.com/poβ¦
Thankfully I have a day off tomorrow...so I'll try to work on those art-trades and commissions then. If not, I'm free on Tuesday.

It's very emotional to see Mikey in a state of stillness like this...even his grief is usually more energetic (the way he threw himself over sensei and sobbed.) Seeing the reality sink in in a quiet moment like this...it kinda drives it home

One aspect of Mikey's character that I really love is how embracive he is. He clings to and hugs those that he loves most, but after the finale, he literally lost everything. Not only is the world gone, but so is his sensei/father. He has nothing left to cling to, and I really wanted to capture that in my image. All he can really do is stand in silence and let the pain set it in.
I'm pretty terrible for it...but this show is to blame! Honest!
But I'm sure all will be well.

Actually, neither. (Although both of those episodes were really good!) I was talking about the season 3 finale (Annihilation Earth). It hasn't aired on TV yet (it will this Sunday), but Nick released it early on their website. It can also be found on other websites, such as KissCartoon.me (which is a website that I prefer because I don't have to deal with so many adds).
I won't give away any spoilers. But I hope you enjoy the episodes when you see them!

No kidding! It was killer! It hit me hard... xD Like, the whole episode was fine and it felt like any other TMNT episode...then that ending happened. And literally, EVERYTHING WENT WRONG. I was just thinking: Wha-at??!
