So it is decided, I have a trade with - a full pic for 3 pendants. Part 1 is [link] her character Seek. This is part 2, Mammoth. Everything went pretty smoothly, just a little hitch with uneven contrast, then I realized this CAN be cut off along the spikes of the collar - you see, with cutting out the trick is I can create spikes and blades as thin as I desire, but I'm seriously limited with incisions, gaps etc. But the spacing between the spikes is just enough to fit the tool and get it done. Yay, this pendant looks MEAN!Outside of neat shape, standard - brass 2mm, staining liquid, Gimp, HCAM, Impala etc etc.

Engraved mechanically, not etched chemically.
The black color is applied only after the engraving is finished - whole surface gets stained chemically, then the topmost surface is polished to shine, removing the stains.

so then do you have a laser cutter that you do this with and what sort of stain has to be applied to get the deeper coloring? I was almost thinking you put a light bit of enameling in it when i first looked at it

There's a pic of the machine at work in my scraps.
I don't know composition of the liquid, but it's sold as brass staining liquid, turns the surface black.

Znacznie ciekawszy od poprzedniego, i fajniejszy. Najbardziej w oko rzuca się te że jest "odcięty" blisko obwódek. Poza tym, rysunek na tym jest czysty, nie ma jakiegoś zastanawiania się "co jest co?". Chyba nie liczny jaki byłbym w stanie kupić w sklepie czy gdzieś tam za rozsądną ceną, mimo że zwyczajowo stronie od takiego żelastwa
